UNPLEASANT SECURITY STAFF
I recently passed through JFK and was similar horrified by the security staff. They were miserable, disinterested, uncaring and basically rude. I can understand your upset completely. I wish I had the name of the managing director so that I could pass on my feelings directly.
smoking at JFK
Is there a designated smoking area inside JFK? My connecting flight is through JFK and I have an hour layover before my 6 hour flight to California. Unfortunately I smoke and would love to have one but do not have time to go outside and then go thru security?!?!

Unfortunatelly not anymore. Since JFK to CA is a domestic flight, you will only have to go through security every time you want to smoke. But at least you will not have to go through customs every time.

Does anyone know if the lockers at JFK are inside or outside security? We have a 4 hour lay over at JFK going to the UK from the USA, and we need to store some stuff in a locker to pick up on the way back through JFK (we are going to another destination on the return when we will need that stuff). Thank you.
Also, on the way back from the UK through JFK, the layover is like 11 hours, and we were wondering if anyone knows if it is allowed to leave the airport to go spend a night in an off-airport hotel?

Terminal 5 to Terminal 4
Could anyone tell me whether there is a walkway from the terminal 5 to terminal 4? The reason I am looking for the walkway is that folks getting off the terminal 5 are foreigners, and they rather want to walk because they are afraid of getting lost by taking bus or train. Thanks in advance.
I will be traveling to Paris
I will be traveling to Paris via Delta from Atlanta with a connection at JFK on AirFrance. As this is my first international flight, will I have to clear security again upon arrival at JFK and re-check my bag(s)?
I have approximately 60 minutes between both connecting flights and am concerned that I may not have sufficient time to travel between the respective terminals (1 and 3) as well as go through the security/bag check process again.
Please advise.
I would think NOT, unless
I would think NOT, unless you have to enter another terminal. Your baggage is checked through so you will not have to get them again until you arrive at your final destination. I hope this helps,,, I have been travelling international since I was 6 months old and now I am 45 yrs....LOL

Yes, you will have to re-enter security. You will arrive in the Delta terminal (most likely term 2, possibly 3 though they are both connected) then you will need to walk across the street to get on the airtrain and go to Terminal 1 for Air france. Paris CDG
You do NOT need to re-check your bags if your connecting flight is within the European Union.
60 minutes at CGD are quite tight!! in any case normally they will pick you up at the plane if you are very late... if so it is very likely that your bag get delayed to the next possible flight.
CDG is a very big airport, but shuttles between terminals run very often.

Bringing Makeup on a Domestic Flight
I took my makeup in my purse out to Denver and it was no problem and then on the way back I put it in my suitcase, again there was no problem. Hope this helps.
