Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

It is very hard to get info on any flying passenger for security concerns. Try to call the airline and see if they will give you any information for them.

Thanks much for your reply. They spent 2 hours and 47 minutes in the immigration line as there were many tourists entering the country.

I'm flying in from SLC on Delta flight #3 - arrives at 5:30 pm -- the connecting flight to LHR (Delta flight #4) leaves at 6:29 pm -- is that enough time to make that connection? If you fly the same airline, do you change terminals?

You have enough time. You don't change terminals in this case - both flights are at Terminal 3.

Hi, I´m a foreigner visiting NY, I´m leaving on saturday and while I was shoping for elctronics, i was told at a store, that when you eave New York at JFK, tere´s an office at the airport where they refund your taxes, on items bought here. Is that true? Where is the office located? Thank you

A lot of passengers are asking us that question and a lot of them have a similar story - the sales person told them that they can claim their tax back at JFK. I guess this is a salesman's trick to make you buy the merchandise.
The sales tax is not refundable when you leave USA.

I will be landing on a weekday before 7am and leaving again at 3pm. Any suggestions on a what I can do during that time? I have never been to NYC and would like to be able to do something fun.

thanks!

We are driving from Central New York to bring my mom to JFK for a flight to Italy on Thursday; we know how to get to JFK, but it's been a long time since we were last there. We need to get her to the Alitalia terminal, and she has a handicapped placard. Where is the best place to park so she won't have to walk too far (with luggage)? Thanks.

Park at Green parking lot, 1st floor ,close to Terminal 1.
The Green parking lot is big(it is for T1,T2,T3) but you can ask somebody which side is close to T1.
There are handicapped spots there.

Hi,

I'm new to NY and I am flying into JFK but will need to get to Pavonia-Newport. What is the best way to do this?

Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then either:
-take subway line E to Penn Station or
-take LIRR to Penn Station(faster but more expensive)
Walk to PATH station and there take PATH train towards Journal Square. Get off at Pavonia/Newport stop.

Then take subway line E to Lexington Ave stop and transfer to subway line 6 going downtown. Get off next stop-Grand Central.(total fare - $7.25)
