JFK Airport Shuttles

The cheapest way is by Airtrain($5) to Jamaica Station and then subway E($2.25) to 42nd street stop(Times Square).

There's no subway stop close to your hotel, you could take a bus from the closest subway station and then walk about 1/4 to 1/2 mile to your hotel. With a child it would be best to take a taxi, cost is about $35+tip.

1. Taxi will take you direct to hotel ($45+tolls+tip).
2. NYAS express shuttle bus ($15) from terminal to Port Authority (42nd St. & 8th Ave.), walk down to 38th St., walk west to hotel between 10th & 11th Aves.
3. Airtrain from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to E subway ($7.25) to Port Authority, walk as above.

1. Taxi ($50.50+tip), will take you direct to hotel.
2. NYAS express bus ($15) to Port Authority Bus Terminal(42nd St. & 8th Ave.) only a block from Times Square.
3. E subway ($7.25) from Jamaica Station (take Airtrain from terminal) to 42nd St./Port Authority.

Take a taxi, the cost will be for all four of you. Trip time is only 15 minutes or so. You can also take LIRR from Jamaica Station (via Airtrain from terminals) but taxi will end up being faster and probably cheaper.

State Shuttle offers a $30 shuttle (90 minute travel time) from EWR to JFK. He should check with ground transportation information when he arrives at EWR.
