You can use two different types of parking at JFK airport:
Long-Term JFK Airport Parking
Located at Lefferts Blvd, 4 miles from CTA
AirTrain services link parking with the terminals.
Parking rates
$18 for up to 24 hours
$6 for each 8-hour period over first 24 hours
Daily JFK Airport Parking
Green parking - Terminals 1,2,3
Blue parking - Terminal 4
Yellow parking - Terminals 5 & 6
Orange parking - Terminal 7
Red - Terminals 8 & 9
Parking rates
$3 for the first half hour
$6 for up to 1 hour
$3 for each additional half hour, up to $33 maximum each 24-hour period
Is there parking tax in addition to the $33 per day long term fee? What is the closest lot to Delta, is there a shuttle bus that runs from the parking lot?
$33/day is for short term parking, Green lot serves Delta terminals 2 and 3. Long term parking ($18/day) is located near Lefferts Blvd, you can take Airtrain from there to terminals.
Am I correct that it is $18/per day, and that you pay when you return from your trip?

do you know if entrusting my car keys to someone is an option at the long term parking at JFK? (the official one?) My friend needs to park my car there for me but we dont know how to do for the keys. thanks!
Follow signs for Blue Parking which serves terminal 4. Rate is $6 per hour.
You can park at long term parking lot - $6 for 2 hours; and then take free Airtrain to the terminals, or park at short term parking lot(Blue parking lot) for T4 - $12 for 2 hours.
