Hi. I am going to be at JFK on September 13, I am going an exchange for 5 months. But my flight to Germany doesn't leave until September 14 at 9:30. I am only 17 and I was wondering if I would be able to stay in a hotel room alone, being only 17. Most sites I checked required one adult in the booking.

I will arrive at JFK on 6 July noon and fly out to Orlando on 7 July at 1 pm. Since I have approx 24 hours at JFK I would like to know if there are any good and cheap hotels inside / near the airport? how to get there? and how best to utilize the time to see New York as it is my first trip to US.

Car or rental car - yes, you can make it before midnight... it'll take about 5 maybe 6 depending on traffic. Other modes of transpo like bus etc. I'mnot sure about.
