Yes and No: Terminal one does have their own customs but I am unsure if they can process your immigration work their.

Go to Terminal 1, get your Boarding pass -- Hop on the airtain and then you will go to Arrivals. You will see a Hotel Reservation desk, next to it its a hallway and thats where they process the Immigration work.

Good Luck

I and my wife will land at JFK, terminal 1, from Italy on may1, in the afternoon.
We need to go to Best Western Hotel in Newark. Do you think we could take the shuttle to Manhattan (where??) to change with a taxi to Newark?
Thank in advance for your answer.

i suggest you take the train from JFK to NY penn station. From NY Penn station you can take a New Jersey transit train to Newark Penn Station. THEN take the taxi to the Best Western. save some money this way. The signs are there for NJ transit and they run regularly. take any of the trains that stop at Newark Penn station there are taxis outside the station. best wishes.
