Lost bag at Terminal 1
I left a carry-on bag at terminal 1 prior to boarding a China Eastern Airlines flight (MU 588) on March 7th 2012. I only noticed as we were boarding the plane and told the checkin staff that it was missing. A staff member called "Sam" took my email and phone number and promised to contact me. So far I haven't received any response. As soon as I got to Shanghai I went to their China Eastern Airlines counter and put in a lost baggage claim which they faxed through to JFK. I have tried to call the JFK lost and found number (866) 588-0825 but no one answers. What should I try next? This bag is very important to me as it has my wedding jewelery. Any help would be appreciated!

Finding your way around JFK
This is an easy airport to find your way around in.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
Belt Parkway:
Belt Parkway to the JFK expressway. The JFK expressway circles around the airport to every terminal. Just watch the signs for your terminal number. If there is a lot of traffic and you miss your exit for the terminal that you need, just circle around again.
Long island Expressway:
Take the Van Wyck Expressway and follow the signs to JFK.
By train:
Take the Long Island Rail Road to Jamiaca.
When you get to Jamiaca you will see signs for the AirTrain. From eth platform take the escalator or elevator up to the concourse, and just follow the signs for the AirTrain. The AirTrain runs 24/7 and stops at all airport terminals.
When you get to your terminal just walk up to the counter and check in.
I prefer taking the train! You never know what the traffic is going to be like in the NYC metro area is going to be like. And the last thing you want is to arrive late at the airport. I suggest not driving alone and parking your car at the airport as you will come back to a very expensive parking bill!
Oh just one more thing... If you have a lot of suitcases and stuff, you may prefer to take a shuttle bus from the city.. or if your coming from the island call an airport shuttle like "Hampton Coach" etc.
Hope this helps.
When the boarding pass change starts?
Dear Sir/Madam,
How many hours ahead of take-off schedule does the boarding pass change start?
I'm taking my new born child with China Eastern MU588 by 2/12, and I need to book my seats next to the cradle on the airplane. So my boarding pass is expected to be changed as early as possible.
MU588 takes off by 15:35, would I be able to get my boarding pass by 12:35?
Thanks a lot.

Lost and found
Hi,
I traveled into JFK on Aeromexico last Friday. I just realised I left behind something in the overhead bin. Is there a lost and found facility, or where would that have gone? It is a pair of trousers
Thanks

Wrapping Luggage Service - Terminal 1 today at 4 pm (1/17/12)
Hello -
I am flying today with Aeroflot from Terminal 1 with a luggage that has broken. Is there luggage wrapping service available on Terminal 1? If so, where exactly is it located and how much would it cost? Would appreciate a prompt response. THANK YOU!!

Yes, there are two stations on each side of terminal one, next to entrance doors. Service cost $9.00 for regular luggage and $12.00 for oversize bag, but be prepared to pay $12.00 for each bag anyway, it what I paid last time I used them.
Hope this helps.

Aeroflot and AirFrance - any chance to meet?
Hello
my parents are flying with aeroflot SU315, arrival on 17. March, 6 pm and me and my husband are flying with AirFrance, AF0010, arrival on the same date, 1 hour later. I am a little bit worried for my parents, because they do not speak English, so it will be difficult for them to go throught the passport control. Is it possible we can go together? 'cause we are going to stay in US anyway altogether for the whole time...
In reply to Aeroflot and AirFrance - any chance to meet? by Victoria_S (not verified)
yes, if you are arriving at
yes, if you are arriving at the same terminal -- which I think you will (both at T1). You are not forced to go through immigration right away. Your parents can wait for you just outside the line, where people are filling out forms. The only issue is your plane is delayed. Using mobile phones is in principle not permitted in this area but if you are not yet in line I imagine no one would complain too much, so you could call them if they have a US mobile phone. Unfortuntely they'd have no way of knowing if your plane is delayed, there is no arrival information in that area.
