We are arriving on a Qantas flight from LAX (which may be an international connecting flight , but not sure) arriving at terminal 7 at 530pm, need to be on a flight from JFK to Toronto at 740pm, is this possible ? I have no idea how to work it out.
There isn't a later flight unfortunately.

I arrive JFK 7am and my flight out isn't until 6pm. By the time I've claimed my luggage would it be worth leaving the airport, if so I'd appreciate suggestions of what I could do/see in a few hours. If its better to remain in the airport area is there anywhere quiet where I might be able to snatch a few hours sleep? Thanks in advance.

Hey,

JFK is not only huge, but isn't really close enough to anything to risk travelling into the city to sightsee. It would take over 2 hours just to travel back and forth and you'd have to leave your luggage at the airport. Not worth it in my opinion, but you could ask when you get there.
Plus, you are technically supposed to be back at the airport 1-2 hours before your flight, so that cuts your real "leisure" time down to just 4 hours or so, max.

You would say that, but I guess others would say it'd be worth it..
No that isn't much time but, really... you don't truely need that much time just to check it out..
It's all mainly oppinionated.. either way there decision..

Hey,

does somebody know how can I get my VAT back? Is there a special desk in the JFK airport? Or is there any place in NYC where I can do that?

Many thanks!
