If I arrive in Terminal 5, do I need to take any train/tram to get to the 'curb' or do I just follow the ground transportation/baggage claim signs to get curbside?

Hi,
My parents will be traveling on JetBlue from SFO to JFK and since the don't travel often and don't speak English very well, can you let me know the easiest way for them to get to the 'curb' from the gate at JetBlue's Terminal 5? Can they just follow the ground transportation/baggage claim signs and get curbside for their ride? Or do they need to take a train/tram from Terminal 5 to get to the curb? Any details would be great as I can't recall what I did when I was there? Thanks in advance?

Arriving on JetBue at Terminal 5 and connecting on Royal Air Maroc at Terminal 1.

1. Do I have to claim luggage for a re-check?
2. What is the best way to transfer between Termoinal 5 and 1?

Thanks
