the ONLY way to get from T4 to T8 other than an airport bus is the airtrain, which is free inside the airport. in T4 the station is located "within" the terminal building, after customs. everyone who enters the US from another country must clear immigration and customs. The ride from T4 to T8 should be less than 5 minutes. Arrival time at your departure gate in T8 is probably around 30 minutes including check-in and security. provided your flight is not at one of the busiest times morning or late afternoon, you should find all transitions smooth, although there is probably about .75km of walking involved, all told.
going to JKF by air train. as soon as I get at terminal 8 is it easy to find the International ARRIVAL Gate?
I need to get in touch with someone who is scheduled to arrive at JFK at 1:42pm EST this afternoon (Thurs, 5/26). In case they do not turn on their cell phone immediately, is there a way to have an agent relay a message, or to have them paged upon arrival? I tried calling the general public number for JFK airport but was unable to access anything other than the automated phone service. Any help is appreciated.

My husband, Peter Cooper, record locator on AA JAYQRJ, is trying to get to JFK for flight to Bermuda. It's the one and only flight to Bermuda on AA tonight.
He was not able to check in from his hotel last night and this morning.
He has no luggage to check in. All he has to do is get his boarding pass, go through security and run to gate 46.
Is there any way you can make this easier on him? would they hold the plane if AA knew? How do I get in touch with AA at JFK to let them know?
Please advise soon.

i am picking up someone flying on an international flight and will be arriving at terminal 8 today 9 (american airlines). he is a new immigrant. does he have to check out the custom at internal arrival terminal, or at terminal 8 where he is going to arrive at? thanks.
I will arrive next sunday from Brazil at 6:00AM, AA flight, terminal 8. My next flight will leave only at 6:00 PM to BWI at the same terminal, so I will have a day long. My questions:
1. I can send the bags back to AA just after customs, in the morning?
2. If not, there is any locker or bag deposit?
3. How long is the shuttle trip to NYC (Penn Station)?
4. At what time I should be back at the airport?

My brother is coming from Hungary. they will arrive at gate C43 term. 8 and changing planes at Terminal 8, Gate C32F
They have a connecting flight to Chicago. Question is: Do they have to use any trains to get to the C32F gate or it is in walking distance?
do they have to pick up luggage clear customs, exit and than re-check in at the departures or they do not need to pick up luggage before clear customs, and when it is done they can just walk to the departure gate without checking in all over again?

We depart from Montreal and arrive at 8:05 am. We normally clear US customs before we leave the country, do we still need to proceed through US customs when arriving? Also, we have a connecting flight at 9:00 a.m. to Dallas, do we have enough time to make the connection? (We are on American Airlines for both flights). Finally, we were told that we do not need to pick up our luggage between flights and that the airline will make sure they get to our final destination, is this true?

I am a Hungarian tourist. It was my question that I would like to travel home from San Francisco to Budapest (Hungary). I found a ticket with a good price on American Airlines. I have to change in New York. My airplane comes to the Terminal 8 from San Francisco and I leave from there to Budapest. Only 40 minutes are the change times. Will this be enough?

I land at JFK on flight 6136 at 5:40pm and have a connecting flight 1687 at 8pm to Miami. Do I have to go through immigration and customs at JFK? Do I have to collect and recheck my luggage? Are the two flights in the same terminal? Will I likely make my second flight?
