I´ll be arriving from Helsinki, Finland on tuesday 05 Jul 11 with flight 6025 to Terminal 8 at 3.50pm and need to catch the American Airlines flight 257 to Las Vegas at 5.05pm (terminal 8). Do I have to recheck my bags and go through customs and Immigration in New York and will I have enough time to catch the flight? And what will happen if I don´t make it in time? Please answer me asap and thank you in advance.
You can have your bags checked thru to Vegas. Your time frame for making the Vegas flight is very tight. If you can get to the gate by 4:55 you will make this flight otherwise you will have to take a later flight
So, did you manage to reach the next flight in the end?
I am thinking of buying a ticket similarly to yours: arriving from Helsinki at 15.50 and leaving to San Diego at 17.15 with American Airlines.

Hi, my parents are coming from BUD to SFO and they transfer at JFK (BUD-JFK-SFO). They're flying with AA the whole time. When they go through immigration do they have to grab their baggage and re-check it as they go through immigration? Do they have to go through security again to transfer?
