My sister will be arriving by Emirates at terminal 4 at 7:35am on June 1st 2010. She has a connecting flight with US Airways to Charlotte at 12:15pm at terminal 7. Does this give her enough time to catch her connecting flight? also can she check in her luggage at terminal 4 for her connecting flight or does she has to go all the way to terminal 7 to check in and how does she get to terminal 7. Thank you for your help

She has more than enough time to do that. Let her check first at Emirates connecting flights counter if they will transfer the bags over to US Airways flight. If not, she has to take her bags to T7 and check them in there. There are baggage carts that are very easy to operate or she can have a baggage handler to help her.
Airtrain is on the third floor of T4 , on track 1 and the second stop is Terminal 7. It is only 2 minutes free ride.

Could anyone recommend how we get from JFK airport to Westminster Hotel using public transport

try air train then subway, a total of less than 10 bucks per person. if u hv bags, try taxi at the taxi stand, don't accept taxi offer at the door.

I will be arr JFK from DCA on Delta and am a bit concerned with my connecting flight (location and time to get to it). My itinerary shows me arr at 12:15pm and departing for Tokyo Narita at 1:10pm. Will my checked luggage be transferred to my Narita flight or do I need to claim and recheck? Also, is 55mins enough time to get from whichever terminal I land at to, I'm guessing, terminal 4 for my dep flight. I see many answers in here from JFK employees that tell the traveler they have to cross a street and board a train. My idea of a street would be outside of the airport so I'm just a bit confused as to what they mean by "street".

Thank you in advance for your time,
MK

no idea about yr bag, but u may be able to catch the air train between terminals without paying fare.

Hi! We are arriving to NYC on Aug 1 (JFK airport), We are staying at 283 Lexington Ave (Military facility) Can you tell me what the best option is for transportation from JFK to 283 Lexington Ave. We are trying to avoid renting a car if possible. Thanks!

if i remember correct, the taxi fare from airport to manhattan is fixed at us$45. go directly to taxi dispatch and don't talk to those offering taxi by asking you. or else, try the craiglist to post your request.

The Hotel we are staying at is one block from Grand Central station. Is there any other transportation available besides Taxi from JFK airport to Grand Central Station? Can we take the airtran from JFK to Grand Central Station? Thank You! There are 3 of us traveling. Is the taxi's $45 each person?

Take airtrain to jamaica station
from there you can take the E train to Manhattan. Follow the signs/ask one of the attendants to assist you in the right direction to the E train (blue line). Get off on 53/Lexington(takes about 45 min or so) Then take the 6 train (green line) downtown one stop to Grand Central 42nd street. This is grand central station.

Taxi is $45 plus tolls and tip so figure $50+ for all three, not per person. You can take Airtrain to Jamaica Station, transfer to the E subway ($7.25) to Lexington Ave./53rd St. and transfer to the downtown #6 subway one stop to Grand Central.

Hi, I'm arriving to NYC on May 30 and just want to know prices and types of transportation, not too expensive but safe. I need transportation from the airport to Hampton Inn Manhattan/Times Square South.

try use craiglist to post your request, or taxi at fix rate (if i remember is correct) at $45. don't answer those offer by the door but to taxi dispatch.
