Hi, please could you help me figure out how I can go from JFK (landing from Frankfurt at 7,40 pm) to Ravel Hotel 8-08 Queens Plaza South. Which is the cheapest/easiest way? Thanx a lot
Easiest way is by taxi which
Easiest way is by taxi which will cost about $40. Cheapest is by Airtrain/subway ($7.25); take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to E subway and get off at Queens Plaza. Exit station at Queens Plaza South and call your hotel as they have a shuttle sevice that will pick you up at Queens Plaza South & Jackson Ave.
Hi, I read somewhere that it
Hi,
I read somewhere that it was possible to purchase a value-pack of 10 Airtrain tickets at a reduced price of $25 ( which works out to be $2.50 per trip).
We are travelling in a party of 3 and will like to make use of the reduced rate.
Can u please advise if this value-pack is in the form of booklets ( which we can tear and split the coupons amongst us) or in the form of a stored value card ( and if so, then can we zap it 3 times per trip?)
Finally, where can we buy this value-pack ( coz your website mentioned that we pay upon exit)?
thanks..lyn from canada
re: value-pack of 10 Airtrain tickets
Hi Lyn,
Yes , it is possible to purchase those deals.
It is in form of ONE Metrocard - in your case you will be swiping it three times(for three people) as you exit.
And you will buy it from the vending machines as you exit the last station(either Howard Beach or Jamaica stations).
FYI: Those kind of Metrocards work for up to 4 people(ie 5 people trying to use it for round trip will not work).

HI E, Thanks so much for
HI E,
Thanks so much for your reply.
2 more subquestions:
a) Is this Airtrain $25 Metrocard a different one from the regular stored value Metrocard that we use for regular subway use within NYC ? ie do I have to buy TWO different cards?
b) you mentioned that this works only for max 4 persons and not 5 persons on round trip. Why? ( 5 tickets * roundtrip = 10 trips; = $2.50 per trip *10 = $25 Airtrain metrocard, right?)
c) I assume that for the return trip ( ie Jamaica Station to JFK ) , we swipe the same card upon EXIT at JFK?
cheers...lyn
re:HI E, Thanks so much for
a.) It is different from the regular subway Metrocard; you can not use it in the Subway system. And you have to buy second Metrocard for use in the subway.
b.) I know , your math is right:) - it is the way they set it up. No more than 4 people at the same time on that card.
c.) Yes , you will swipe the same card as you enter the system at Jamaica Station.

Hello,
I will be leaving in a couple of hours and would like to ask which would be the best way to get to North Bergen NJ from JFK aiport? (cheap & fastest way)
Thank you very very much!
re:way to get to North Bergen NJ from JFK aiport? (cheap & faste
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going two different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then either:
-take subway line E to Penn Station(total fare - $7.25;~1 hour) or
-take LIRR train to Penn Station(faster;total fare ~ $12, less on the weekends; 35-45 min.)
At Penn Station take PATH train to Pavonia/Newport station and transfer to Hudson Bergen light rail to Tonnelle Ave.

security baggage reticketing etc.
I am taking a trip to Moscow Russia in few weeks, I will be coming to JFK airport from Minneapolis Mn, on Delta, and I will be leaving JFK for MOscow on Delta. My question is when getting off plane at JFK what do I do next and where do I go. Noone seems to have an answer for me? Some say I need to get my checked luggage from carousell and then go through customs with checked baggage, and then have to go through ticket counter again, to get boarding pass..any help would be appreciated...
re:coming to JFK airport from Minneapolis Mn, on Delta, and I wi
No need to get your bags - Delta will check them all the way through Moscow. No need to go through customs either(when you are leaving USA).
Delta to Moscow will go out of Terminal 3.
Delta from Minneapolis most likely will land at T4.
In this case go to gate B23( make sure not to exit sterile area) - Delta has a bus that will take you directly to Terminal 3. The bus leaves every 15 min. This way you don't have to clear security again.
If Minneapolis flight lands at T3 then just look for the gate number for your flight to Moscow.

your help please...
Hello...
I need to get my son from jfk airport to downtown Philadelphia- near the art institute. Is the train an option? Can you help me with the best method and what it might cost?
Thanks!
JFK to Philly
Not an East Coaster, but the AirTran (and the LLIR or subway) from JFK to Penn Station and then either Amtrak or the MegaBus (a British firm which rocks for about $5+, depending upon which bus) to Market. Catch any of the local buses on Market to where he needs to be downtown. Good luck.
re: jfk airport to downtown Philadelphia
MegaBus is one of the best choices - the price from Manhattan to Philly is actually $8-$13(depending on the time). It leaves Penn Station every hour. Check out their website:
