When we arrive from Mumbai, India to JFK in Terminal 4. What is the order of things that would happen before I catch my next flight which is in Terminal 8.

1. Disembark the plane
2. Go through US immigration
3. Pick up you checked bags(if you have any)
4. Go through US customs.
5. Recheck the bags at connecting flights counter for Air India.
6. Take Airtrain on third floor of T4 on any track over to T8.
7. Get a boarding pass from AA check-in counters(if you don't have one). AA check-in counters are located on the third floor of T8.
8. Go through security check which is on the same floor.
9. Look for the departure gate for your AA flight
10. Enjoy your flight:)

Hi
My wife is coming from Mumbai - JFK(Air India) on terminal 4 at 7.10 A.M. And from there she has to catch AA flight to SFO on terminal 8 at 9.00 A.M.
Where she has to recheck the baggage for AA flight.
Does she needs to take the baggage to T8 or is there any specific place to keep the baggage?

She has only 1.50 hrs layover time is there. Is that time sufficient?

Are there pay phones that will allow use of phone cards using 800 numbers at terminals 4 and 8?

Yes.

I will be arriving at Terminal 4 on Sunday. I will have with me a peice of test equipment that is on a Carnet. Where do I go to clear the equipment through customs on arrival and also where do I go when departing JFK?

On arrivals you will clear it as everybody else. On departure look for customs office located next to Hotel Reservation desk.

How can I get Terminal 7 from Terminal 4?
Tks.

Questions please:
We will be arriving from outside USA through terminal 4 and will have to connect to our second flight through terminal 3. We have a lot of luggage.
1. Do we need to unload/reload our bags onto the trolley when walking towards the Train or riding in it?

2. As our original flight is international, we are allowed 2 bags each without any additional cost. However, or connection will be considered domestic. Will we be required to pay for our bags at the check-in counters?

Thanks for your help

1. No

2. If both flights are on the same tickets then you don't pay. But if your domestic flight is on separate ticket then you will pay per bag(depending on the airline).

hi,

is there any plastic/saran wrap service in terminal 4? i would like to get my checked-in baggage wrapped in plastic covering like I have seen in some other airports.

thanks.

There are a lot of stations that do plastic wrapping at T4(located on the 4th floor, in front of check-in rows).
