You need to contact Icelandair (I would do it ahead of time, but you could also do it at the T& at the check-in desk)... if you are the adult picking her up they should provide you with one pass to meet her at the gate.

If Iceland Air do not consider her as minor then they might refuse you gate pass. But in USA she is a minor so they either have to give you a gate pass or they have to escort her to arrivals area.

Can someone tell me what my options are as far as being at JFK overnight? I am arriving on a British Air flight at 10:40 pm and do not leave until 6am on a US Air flight. I am enrolled in mileage programs with United, American, Delta and Virgin America. Is it possible to use one of their lounges and are they open 24 hours?? I saw there is some place open to all travelers, but only until midnight...

I am to arrive to JFK with LACSA AIR at 1:00AM and my next flight with BA is scheduled to 8:40AM from Terminal 7. I am an economy class traveller. During this waiting period, is it possible to get an access to BA Lounge by paying a daily fee and how much is it? Is there any other lounge at Terminal 7 that enables economy class passengers to use their facilities subject to entrance fees and how much would such fee be?

BA lounge is not accessible for economy passengers. UA lounge is accessible though upon paying $50.

Hello,

We are two European travelers coming into Terminal 5 (as I understand it) flying JetBlue from Aruba at 6.45 PM on a wednesday evening. We are then flying out back to Europe on Iceland Air from terminal 7 back at 8.30 PM.

1) Is there any way to check in the bags all the way to Europe in Aruba, despite the airlines being unaffiliated? Ie. is there any way possible to skip baggage retrieval for us at JFK?

2) Is the connection time (1h 45min) enough for baggage, customs, terminal transfer, check-in, security, boarding - or would you recommend us taking an extra hotel night close to the airport?

Thank you in advance!

Daniel and Maria

Hello Daniel and Maria,
1.) This is up to the airline that you begin your journey with. As far as I know Jet Blue does not have baggage transfer agreement with lots of other airlines.
Double check with them again in AUA.
2.) The time is very tight for you , even you will be clearing customs and immigration in AUA. The problem is that you have to pick up(and wait for that) your bags at T5 and then go to T7. You have to make it to T7 by 7:30 the latest - Iceland Air will close their check in counters after that. Hope Jet Blue won't be late .

I found myself in a similar situation once, so I shipped my luggage. It meant I could go directly to customs w/o waiting for my suitcases. It's better than missing the connection. If you Google it, quite a few companies exist who ship luggage-- they pick it up at your house. It may be even cheaper to use FedEx/UPS...

Hi,

I'm looking forward to buy my tickets but I have one question left:
I'll be coming back from San Francisco with United and heading towards Paris via Keflavik with Iceland Air.

I will have 2h20min before the seconf flight. I'am wondering if I (and my luggage..) will make it. How much time does one need to go through the security operations if there is any on my way home?

Thanks for all

Pierre

Hi Pierre,
Since you flying in on United domestic and out on Iceland Air, you don't need to change terminals. I believe your bags will be checked through Paris by United in SFO(double check again with them).
Just make sure not to exit the sterile area(otherwise you have to clear security again, for which you will need ID and boarding pass;in case that happen, it takes 15-20 min to clear security).

Hi! I am picking up my 14 year old goddaughter who is flying into JFK from CLT on USAir. We are then going on to Denmark together. I want to be able to meet her at the gate at Terminal 7 as soon as she gets off the plane (she is nervous about traveling alone) so we can pick up her bags and then travel together to Terminal 3 to check in for our international flight. Will I be able to bring my bag down to the gate with me? Or will I have to check my bag in Terminal 3 for the international flight, go to Terminal 7 to get her and then go back to Terminal 3 to check her in?

Many thanks in advance.

To meet her at the gate you have to request a gate pass from the airline representative.
In case you go to the gate you won't be able to bring your bags(check-in) with you.
But since she is 14yrs old she will be escorted to the arrivals area by an airline employee who will wait with her until you show up.

Hi, I am arriving at T7 on CX888 at 6:34am and departing about 4 hours later from T7 on CX841 at 10:22am. I will have CX check my bags all the way through to Hong Kong. During the 4 hour stopover, I will have access to the British Airways Business Class lounge.

Do I have to go through US Customs to get to the BA Lounge Departure level on T7 or can I just go from the arrival gate to the BA lounge then back to the departure gate? Thanks!
