Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

I was infomred that a friend of mine who is travelling from Ghana is at the immigration office and cannot continue his trip.
How can I verify this information? Hom should I talk to to try o help him?
I urgently need an answer.

I think you would have to call the airport number 718-244-4444 and ask for the department of homeland security's number or if they can transfer you and find out there.hope it will work.

Can you be 17 and still be able to purchase an airplane ticket? I live in New York City.

Help ASAP! I am managing a group of 20 students flying in from Nigeria on Arik Airlines. The flight arrives Terminal 4. I understand they will clear customs/immigration in Terminal 4. JetBlue tells me they must take their bags to Terminal 5 to check bags for their final flight to Orlando on JetBlue. This doesn't make sense to me. Please confirm; I think they can check bags in Terminal 4 then proceed without baggage to Terminal 5. Can they check the bags in Terminal 4 and get their boarding passes as well, REGARDLESS OF WHO THEY ARRIVED ON.
Thanks!! This flight is Monday so please respond ASAP.

Since Jet Blue does not have baggage transfer agreement with Arik, they have to take their bags and check them in at T5.

Hi, I live on eastern Long Island and I need to take a flight from JFK at either 6:30 AM or possibly 8:15 AM on Sat Sept 18th, can you tell me the best way to get there in time for both flights. I would take the LIRR Ronkonkoma line, but not sure where to go from there...
Thank you.

Get off at Jamaica Station and transfer to Airtrain which will take you to JFK terminals.

Have to wait at JFK with my family (wife and two kids) for approximately 7 hours before transferring to san francisco. I have two questions: any chance finding a place to sleep for a few hours? is there a laundrette at JFK?
