Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

Many thanks for your help - much appreciated.

Both terminals are 5-10 mins apart via Airtrain(which is free between the terminals). I would recommend T8(1st floor, arrivals) as a meeting place since is less complicated and less crowded.

dear ladies and gentlemen

while staying in your country for about 2 month, we spent a lot of money and taxes by shopping. as on our return home, we´ll have to declare our goods we´ll have to pay taxes one more time. that´s why i´d like to know, where i can get back the taxes i paid? thank you for your answer!

kind regards
danielle

Unfortunately this can not be done in USA.There used to be a practice of returning the taxes many years ago but not anymore.

Should be worried that Earl will have an effect? I'm trying to check with the airline (British Airways) I'm flying to Heathrow. Please, let me know if there are any other ways of checking in on the flight status - thanks!

Only your airline can give you exact flight status. Most of the heavier storm effects are expected to be well to the east and northeast of JFK.

I will be at JFK at 6:30 AM. Could you please advise the best and cheapest way to go "3317 Greenpoint Avenue, Long Island City, New York, 11101-2011, US"

Cheapest is by Airtrain/subway/bus: take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station, take E subway to Jackson Hts/Roosevelt Ave., transfer to the Manhattan-bound #7 subway (NOT the #7 "diamond" express, it will bypass local stations) and get off at 46th/Bliss St. From there take the Greenpoint-bound B24 (runs along Greenpoint Ave.) bus to your destination. Taxi will cost you about $40 but is faster.

what would be the fastest way to get to Penn Station on Friday morning - arriving JFK approx 7:00 am Sept 3

shuttle or train?

Thanks
Terrie

Take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station and then take LIRR to Penn Station. Faster than subway and shuttle bus during rush hour and there are trains departing to Penn Station just about every five minutes during the AM rush. 10-15 minutes on Airtrain and 15-20 minutes on LIRR.

I'm arriving on a domestic flight but would like to meet a friend coming on an international flight. Is it possibile for me to meet my friend in the international baggage claim area?

No, that is restricted area.

Attn. Ms./Mr.,
Warm greetings in the very Precious Name of our Dear Lord Jesus...
Actually I'm so so nervous and mad of what has happened with my bag on Delta Airlines..
I came on Delta Flight No.DL140 from Boston to New York JFK on 21st of July 2010 with Ticket No. 24808377183 . I was one of a group of my sisters with their families, at the beginning we reported not receiving 5 bags, then found four of them and left one LOST with Tag # 2K709869 in the name of Mr. Soliman. We have reported that at the Airport but in vain no answers, then we have reported again on file No. Ref#LGADL62631 and up till the moment I haven't heard one word from any one from Delta Airlines.... Then I had to buy everything starting from clothes up till even underwears because I'm staying one month in USA....
Which is shocking me because a friend of mine has lost her bag last month on Egypt Air coming from Bulgaria to Egypt, and after she has reported that, she claimed her bag after 24 hours...
I urgently need my bag, knowing that their was in it my jewleries (Gold & silver) and sentimental staff also gifts to all my friends in the STATES, and the most important all my medications knowing that I'm rhewmatoid patient ...

I thought maybe it's lost at JFK Airport ...

I do need an urgent and quick reply PLEASE...

Thanks in advanced for all your care & support ... Looking forward for your reply...

Best regards,
Dr. Miranda Ouida

You state that you arrived at JFK but the reference number is LGADL62631(which refers to La Guardia airport). Something is not right...Double check your info.

Is there an office where I can puarchase insurance in Terminal 4?

thanks
