Yes you will have to clear security again and two hours is enough to make a connection especially when your second flight is delayed.

i think delta offers a bus from terminals 2/3 to terminal 4 that drops you offer after security so you don't have to go through it again.

The passengers are allowed to use that bus ONLY if their connecting flight is Delta operating flight.

I am planning for a trip to Pittsburgh via JFK. I'll be landing on JFK on Emirates flight and have to catch a connecting flight on American Airlines to Pittsburgh. It will be my first time travel to USA.
1. What would be the safe time required between connections so that I don't miss the domestic flight?
2. What options are available for transfer between the terminals?
3. Any lounge/hotel in the terminal which i can book to freshen up before the onward flight?
4. Is there any smoking area within the terminals?

Thanks for your reply

1. In my opinion 2.5 to 3 hours between the flights.
2. Use the air trains located at every terminal it is fast free and easy.
3. Terminal 4 is open 24/7 for you to stay and that is the terminal which you will arrive upon at JFK airport.
4. There are some smoking huts outside every terminal.

Hello everybody,

I arrive in Terminal 1 with Air France, and I have to Terminal 4 with Carabbean air line. i would like to know please, how to change terminal (by shuttle, bus, foot...) and how long time it is approximatly?
Thanks in advance for the replay....
Cheers

Take an air train on the 3rd floor it will get you to terminal 4 in about 5 to 10 minutes if not less. You are very welcome. Enjoy your journey.

I arrive in terminal 4 via Emirates and I have a connecting flight to Boston from terminal 8 via a american airlines flight. I have to go through immigration and also collect by baggage at T4. Is there a american airline counter in T4 where i can check in my bag or do I have to do it in T8??

You have two options here:
- re-check the bags at Emirates connecting flights counter(located right after customs)at T4 or
- take your bags with you to T8 and re-check them there at AA check-in counters.

You will have to go to Terminal 8 counter.

We will be arriving to La Guardia Airport around 8:00 pm and have an international flight to catch from JFK Terminal 4 @ 11:00 pm On wednesday dec 15th.

I am really concerned that 3 hours is not enough time for us to transfer from LGA to JFK. I called delta airline that arives in LGA as well as emirates that leaves from JFK & both are telling me that i should be ok.

I am just worried because we have to count on the flight getting to LGA on time, claiming our luggage 4 suitcases & two carry on, get a cab to JFK & check in the 4 bags again & go through security @ JFK !!

what do you think will be fastest way to get from La Guardia Airport to JFK airport? i am thinking Cab, is that correct??

Also how long will it take to check the bags again & go through security at JFK terminal 4?

Thanks

You should be fine with taking a cab. At JFK Airport you will have to go through security and check in your bags which will take you about an hour. Lets hope that your flight to LaGuardia will be on time.

I, along with that commenter, would also like to know if Air Europa tickets can be purchased at their ticket counter or office in Terminal 4, if they have a ticket counter or office in Terminal 4.

Do they?

Thank you.

Yes you can buy them all over the airport in many various spots.

Hi there
