JFK Airport Parking Information
You can use two different types of parking at JFK airport:
Long-Term JFK Airport Parking
Located at Lefferts Blvd, 4 miles from CTA
AirTrain services link parking with the terminals.
Parking rates
$18 for up to 24 hours
$6 for each 8-hour period over first 24 hours
Daily JFK Airport Parking
Green parking - Terminals 1,2,3
Blue parking - Terminal 4
Yellow parking - Terminals 5 & 6
Orange parking - Terminal 7
Red - Terminals 8 & 9
Parking rates
$3 for the first half hour
$6 for up to 1 hour
$3 for each additional half hour, up to $33 maximum each 24-hour period

getting from Long-Term parking to the airport
I need to park my car at 4 a.m. on a weekday, and get my family to the American Airlines terminal by 4:45 a.m. I've been told that it is chance-y to trust the shuttle buses going from long-term parking to the airport, and it is safer to park in short-term and just pay the double-cost of parking. Is this true? Is it really taking a chance to park in Long-Term and count on getting a shuttle bus in a timely fashion? Do the shuttle buses even RUN at that hour? If anyone could answer this I would be SO GRATEFUL!
Short Term parking
Can I leave my car in the "Daily JFK Airport Parking" for 2 days Thu morning to Sat morning or is it limited to 1 day only?

Is there availability in the Long Term Parking Tuesday after Memorial Day? Are the rates still 15$ for the first day and 5$ for each additional 8 hour period? no weekly rates?

My flight arrives at 11 Pm and need to catch another at 6 AM Is there a place to sit at the airport comfortably and securely

How crowded?
Can someone comment on whether JFK's long term parking lot ever gets filled to capacity? Or is it very large, and rarely completely full? We're flying overseas on July 2nd, and want to leave our car there for 3 weeks. The rates are surprisingly cheap!

The many times I have been there it always had spots open. Ther are also manu private company parking lots that you can reserve space in.

Double billed for parking
I was paying my parking ticket this morning from Terminal 6 parking lane 245 at 9:21 this morning. The attendant processed my credit card and then told me it didnt go thru and asked for $36 in cash. I just checked with my bank and $36 was actually processed. How do I get refunded?

I will be leaving early morning on may 26, 2008 and returning early morning on 5:30 am on June 2, 2008 can you tell me home much it will caost me to have my suv parked there and is it safe?

can you make reservations and if not how do you find out if there will be availability? trying to decide between on site or off site.
