my son is flying from manchester uk to san francisco international airport on 5th june with a change at jfk.both flights are with delta airlines.will he have to re check his baggage & would the connection from jfk be classed as a domestic flight.
His bags should be tagged
His bags should be tagged final destination SFO but he will collect them in order to clear customs. After exiting customs he will take his bags to the Delta connecting flights counter and return upstairs to the departure level to clear security for his connecting flight. Yes, the flight from JFK to SFO is domestic.
union square
I will be arriving to JFK this weekend and I need to get to union square. This would mean i would have to get on the 4 train. How can I get to the 4 train from JFK using public transportation?
Pay a yellow cap 40.00 Is
Pay a yellow cap 40.00 Is the better option @ save. All Manhattan have the same price. upps forget tips
The cheapest way is to take
The cheapest way is to take the Q10 or Q10 Limited bus from JFK Terminal 4 to Lefferts Boulevard and Liberty Avenue. From there, board the "A" train, and transfer at the first stop in Manhattan -- "Broadway/Nassau Street" -- to an uptown 4 or 5 train to Union Square. Or you can stay on the "A" train to 14th Street/8th Avenue, and transfer there to a Brooklyn-bound "L" train, which also stops at Union Square.
If you do not want to take a bus, you can take the AirTrain to Jamaica Station, and then board a Manhattan-bound "E" train. Transfer to a Manhattan-bound "R" train at Roosevelt Avenue/Jackson Heights, or at Queens Plaza. The "R" train will take you to Union Square.
Note that there are often changes to subway service on the weekends due to maintenance work. Check www.mta.info on Friday for weekend service changes.
changing from international to domestic flight
I am arriving from the UK on American Airlines flight 6136 at 5:40pm. My next flight is domestic American Airlines flight 1687 at 8:00pm.
1) Do I have to go through immigration and customs at JFK?
2) Do I have to collect and recheck my luggage?
3) Are the two flights in the same terminal?
4) Is 2 hrs and 20 min enough time to go through immigration, recheck luggage and make 2nd flight?
1. Yes. 2. Yes (unless your
1. Yes.
2. Yes (unless your flight departs from LCY, in which case you would clear U.S. Customs/Immigration during the re-fueling stop at Shannon). There should be a re-check desk right after you clear Customs at JFK. When you check in for your flight in London, ask the agent to tag your baggage with your final destination in the U.S.
3. No. Your flight is operated by BA, and will land at BA's terminal, T7. You will need to ride the AirTrain one stop to get to T8, the AA terminal.
4. Probably, unless your in-bound flight is very late, or there are unusual delays at Customs/Immigration.
Is this enought time to connect?
My wife and I are coming from Seattle/Tacoma with American Airlines to JFK/Terminal #8 at 4:00PM and connecting on Flight #316 Aeroflot (Terminal #1) to Moscow departing at 7:00PM.
Is this enough time to connect and go through immigration between terminals?
Do I have to receive my luggage from American Airlines and then check it in again at Aeroflot or can my luggage go directly from Seattle to Moscow ?
PLEASE ADVISE .
You have plenty of time.
You have plenty of time. You will not go through immigrations as your flight from Seattle is domestic. Ask at Seattle check-in if AA can tag your bags through on Aeroflot. If not you will need to collect your bags and re-check at Aeroflot. Take AirTrain on track 2 from T8 to T1.
about the visa issue
I will get a connecting plane at Kennedy airport next month. But the date I'll take the plane is closely near the validity date of my VISA, maybe only two allowable days left. So I just want to know if my fight is gonna be ok.
