A taxi to New Haven would be VERY expensive. Inquire at the Welcome Center about Connecticut Limo for shuttle service from JFK to locations in CT or go online at ctlimo.com. There's hourly service from each JFK terminal making various stops along the way between 7am and 10pm. Travel time to New Haven is about 3 hours and cost around $70 per person one way.
Minor's flying and guidence
My step daughter is flying in on Wed july 28 on Turkish airlines. I cannot help her go through customs and or immigration. I need to know she will be helped. Her English isn't 100%. She is 16 and flying alone and still needs help. I need also to know where I can meet her inside the airport, where security will let me go.

You can meet her at terminal 1 arrivals hall as she will clear both immigration and customs at terminal 1. Inquire with Turkish Airlines whether your step daughter can get an extra service up to her clearance with customs and meeting with you at arrivals hall.

To get from one terminal to
To get from one terminal to the other you should take an air train. Each terminal has signs how to get to an air train. For example if you are traveling from terminal 4 to terminal 5 take an air train on track 1 and track 2 vice versa.

I have a flight at 3:35 pm to Seattle Tacoma at terminal 3 with Delta Airlines again.

Your time frame between the
Your time frame between the flights is good as long as your first flight is on time. Once you arrive at JFK on Alitalia you will clear Immigration,take your luggage and pass it through Customs and then you will clear Security at Terminal 3 for your second flight.
