JFK International Airport AirTrain
AirTrain JFK is the train service that operates between JFK

It also serves as an on-airport service connecting the airline terminals, rental
car facilities, hotel shuttles, and airport parking lots.
Air Train JFK has
3 routes:

The Howard Beach route ends at the Howard Beach-JFK subway station. It stops
at Lefferts Boulevard (connecting transit services - B15 bus) for shuttle buses
to long term parking lots A and B and to airport employee parking.
Connecting transit services: A subway train, Q11 bus
- Jamaica Station route
The Jamaica route ends at Jamaica Station on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)
next to the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue-JFK subway station (to Brooklyn
and Manhattan or Queens).

I am arriving JFK T8 on AA032 26Aug at 2220hrs.
Would Air Train be functional to drop me at Federal Circle.
Have to reach Days Inn through their Free Shuttle Service.
Thanks
Will I be able to get the
Will I be able to get the AIR train from Platform 4 to Federal Circle on August 10th around 8pm? My hotel shuttle bus leaves from around there. Is there an alternative mode of transportation I can take if it's not running?
I think you mean *Terminal*
I think you mean *Terminal* 4, not *Platform* 4.
AirTrain service is currently suspended from 9:00 PM until 7:00 AM, Sunday-Friday, so you should be able to still catch a train at 8:00 PM. Trains to Federal Circle normally use Track 1, but always check the destination signs -- or ask an attendant -- before boarding.
If, for any reason, AirTrain service is suspended by the time you are ready to take it, the Port Authority will be operating substitute shuttle-bus service from each terminal to Federal Circle.
Airtran to Times Square
I am arriving tomorrow & hoping to take Airtran to get me close to the Marriott Marquis on Times Square - what is the best subway connection?
Thanks!
AirTrain to Jamaica Station;
AirTrain to Jamaica Station; then Manhattan-bound "E" subway to 42nd Street/8th Avenue. Exit to the rear of the subway, and follow signs for the exit at 44th Street/east side of 8th Avenue. Walk one block north to 45th Street, and then 3/4 block east. The entrance to the hotel (through a driveway) will be on your left.
Allow about 35 minutes for the subway ride from Jamaica.

JFK to Philly
Hi I am planning a trip from Cape Town, South Africa to Philly. I am landing at JFK on the 24th of Dec and returning the 1st of Jan 2012. What would be best and cheapest route to travel from JFK to Philly and back?
"Best" and "cheapest" are
"Best" and "cheapest" are often mutually exclusive. If you have not yet purchased your ticket, you should inquire about the cost of adding on the JFK-PHL-JFK flights operated by Delta.
For ground transportation, the absolute cheapest way would probably involve taking the Q-10 or Q-10 Limited bus from JFK Terminal 4 to the "A" train subway at Lefferts Boulevard and Liberty Avenue. Take the "A" train to 34th Street/Penn Station, and then take Bolt Bus or Megabus from there to Philadelphia. The whole trip could cost under $10, depending on whether you are able to secure one of the very cheap seats on the bus by being among the first to book a particular trip.
Other, more expensive ground transportation options include taking the AirTrain to Jamaica Station, the subway or Long Island Rail Road from there to Penn Station, and then Amtrak or one of the aforementioned buses to Philadelphia.
transfering from jfk to 57th street
Hi
Can anyone help, We need to get to columbus circle station from JFK, do we take the E train from Jamaica Station or the A train from Howard Beach, both connected via the airtrain at JFK, my hotel is on 57th Street near columbus circle.
Also what is the approx travel time for the route?
Thanks
Hi there. We arrive at JFK
Hi there. We arrive at JFK at 5:50pm on Friday. Our hotel is at W23rd, 8th Avenue in NYC Chelsea. We are 2 adults and 4 children with "normal" luggage. What are our options to get there? Should we take the train/subway or a taxi? I expect a taxi to be pricy... What's about a bus? tia & greetings from Germany
Air Train Delay
I arrive on Delta at 9:20 pm and I believe thats at Terminal 3.
My connecting flight is at 01:20 am from Terminal 7 (Cathay Pacific Airways).
I was informed by the airline that the air train services on my travel date is suspended from 9pm - 7am next day.
Which is the safest and quickest way to get from Terminal 3 to Terminal 7 around 9:45 pm. I will have to probably tow my luggage along too.
Routes to The Manhattan Hotel
Hi there. We arrive at JFK at 8:00am on a Thursday. What are our options to get to our hotel at 7th Ave and 51st St? I can't tell which of the LIRR, E-Train or A-Train is quickest. Will it be busy on all routes because of rush hour and should we take a taxi instead? Many thanks.
How many people? How much
How many people? How much luggage? AirTrain to Jamaica and then the "E" subway to 50th Street/8th Avenue would get you very close to your destination. The subway will be crowded at that hour, but you would be boarding at the second stop, so you should be able to get a seat. (You also have the option of riding the "E" train one stop in to opposite direction -- to its terminal at Jamaica Center -- and you would certainly get a seat there.) If you only have carry-on size luggage, you can probably slide it under your seat to keep it out of the aisles.
A taxi is always an option, but it will cost about $60 with toll and tip, and might not be any faster than the AirTrain/"E" subway combination at that hour.
