Do you think there is a big probability I'd miss the flight? How much time before the flight do I have to check-in the luggage?

Of course everything depends on timely arrival of your flight from Prague. I think if you check your bags at least one hour before your flight you should be ok but no guarantees. A quick customs clearance would certainly help.

My sense is you will not be able to turn around that quickly. The distance between terminals is not very short... long walks, wait for the airport train etc. etc. Immigration at JFK is also not as quick as some of the other airports (though LAX is by far the worst).

I will be traveling to manhatten by going thru Jfk then the air train to Jammaca. Then we will take the lirr to penn station.I will be in a wheelchair with my wife as a companion taking one suitcase . Have any of you done this before. Will this be as easy as it looks

Hi,
I am arriving at JFK airport at 3pm. I need to go to Boston and want to buy a domestic ticket from JFK to Boston at 7.25pm. Is there enough time to clear immigration and check into my new flight within 4 hours 25 mins? Both my flights will be at terminal 4 of JFK. Please help! Thanks.

You can take the Air Train
You can take the Air Train from JFK to Jamaica LIRR station and take LIRR to Penn Station where you can catch a bus outside the station to DC or take Amtrak train to DC. Bus is cheaper.
First Class arrival service
Delta (or JFK) had a service for a fee to meet and help First Class passengers get luggage, into Customs, and to transportation. Is this service still available? If so, how can they be contacted by telephone and/or e-mail?

International interconnection for Canada at JFK
In October we'll be returning to Toronto from India via JFK on an Air India flight with an international American Airlines connecting flight to Toronto Airport.
a) Will we need to go through American customs or do we remain in the International area (in transit) and assuming our baggage is automatically transferred to our AA flight can we go directly to the AA boarding gate for our flight to Toronto where we'd go through Canadian customs on arrival?
b) If so will 2 hours and 10 minutes be sufficient to make the interconnection?

I believe you will need to clear US Customs when you arrive at JFK, collect your baggage and go to the American Airlines terminal to check in for your Toronto flight. Your connection time will depend on how busy customs is at the time you arrive and connection time between terminals. Good luck!

Is there anyone who knows how much time immigration and baggage claim normally (whatever it means?) takes? Someone commented that 2hrs should be enough to change terminal for connection flight?Is that true? Many thanks!
