Terminal 4 Facts and Figures
The $1.4 billion T4 opened in May 2001. It is the cornerstone of a $10.3 billion revitalization program currently underway at JFK.
T4 is a model for air terminal technology for the 21st century.
T4 has signed agreements with approximately 50 airlines representing 40 countries, serving U.S. and overseas destinations around the world.
T4 occupies 165 acres, one of the largest properties of any terminal at JFK and is one of the largest air terminals in North America.
T4 was designed with the infrastructure to process between 10 million - 12 million passengers annually.
T4 operates the only facility at JFK's with 24 hour Customs and Border Protection, 365 days per year.
T4 houses the only internal station for AirTrain, JFK's light rail system connecting all JFK terminals, Long Term parking, Car rental and hotel locations, The NYC subway at Howard Beach and the LIRR at Jamaica Station.
T4 is home to 4 religious chapels- Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and Multi-faith, each with a dedicated Chaplain.

Terminal 4 departure
Hi,
My elderly mom is going to India by Air-India. Her flight departure is at terminal 4. So is there a parking in front of terminal 4, where I can drop her directly?
And what all process she has to do eg customs,immigration,security check? Any suggestions are welcome.

You can drop her on the departure level, but she has to wait for you until you park the car. Or you can park the car in the short term parking lot(Blue parking)and then walk across the street with her to Terminal 4.
She has to check her bags in/obtain a boarding pass at Air India counter and then proceed to the third floor where she will go through security checkpoint. That is as far as you can assist her. After security checkpoint she has to look for the gate number for Air India flight.

How long does it take to get between T4 and T5?
If i arrive 1630 to T4 and have a flight T5 1840 will i make it? Thanks

Around 10 minutes. Either by Airtrain or walking.
You will make your flight at T5.

Transfer LX to B6
I'll be arriving from ZRH on LX16 and transfering to B61085. I could find out that LX will arrive in Terminal 4. From which Terminal does Jetblue operate? Is 3.5hrs enough for an international-domestic tranfer?Do I have access to Internet in any of those terminals?

You are correct LX arrives at T4. Jet Blue departs out of Terminal 5 . Use Airtrain to transfer between. 3.5 hours is plenty of time. There is WiFi access at T5 - just ask any Jet Blue employee how to access it. There is also paid Internet access at T4, Hotel reservation counter(1st floor).

Friend stuck in airport, no comm
Hi! A friend of mine arrived in JFK yesterday, that is Friday, Mar 13, from Calcutta, India on an Air India flight via Delhi, India. She is stuck due to bad weather and is supposed to take a connecting flight to Ohio, with two changes. Is there any way I can get in touch with her? Her family is very worried and so are we. Please help.
Flight transfer
Hi there,
I'll be arriving on SQ at T4 at 12:00 and have a flight to BOS on Jet Blue at 14:35.
1. Would I have to claim my baggage & clear customs at T4, then check in again at T5?
2. Is 2.5 hrs enough time for that and transfer between terminals?

1. Claiming and clearing customs will take place at T4. After exiting customs look for "Connecting flights" counter for Singapore Airlines where they will transfer your bags onto your next flight.
2. Two hours and a half is enough time.

I'm planning to bring some cooked and canned foods when travelling. Does all food items brought need to be disclosed or just some types? If so I can not waste my time and drop it.
Also if I bring disclosable food how much extra time will I waste?
We're also planning to use the advance passenger information and provide all the details online if we do so what forms do we not have to fill and how much time would it actually save?
We're landing on a wednesday at 4 pm and have to be at penn Station at 7.10 pm we'll travelling using Taxi.. Is this a realistic target? I'm a non US Citizen
Also the new directives say certain countries citizens which US has an interest in may have to undergo more security clearance. How can I know in advance as to whether my country falls in to that category?
Would really appreciate a response.
Immigration at New york airport
I have Air india flight from Delhi to Washington DC. Flight stays in New york for 2.30 hrs. Will there be an immigration? If yes , how much time it takes to clear immigration and customs and check in the baggage again. Also , is there check in counter at T4.

I have flight from Cairo to JFK in Egyptair well my departure is at Monday, May 31, 2010 10:20 am and my arrival at 3:15pm in terminal 4 .Next I have another flight in DL to Tampa Florida at 7:05 pm .Time between my flights is 3:50 hours and I have to go from terminal 4 to terminal 3 .Could you please till me the steps I well do and how can I find help in JFK?. Are there in JFK I well be check my bags or not ?

That is plenty of time to transfer(assuming your flight from Cairo is on time). Use Airtrain to transfer from T4 to T3(where Delta is). Look for connecting flight counter of Egyptair(right after customs) for transferring you bags.

Anyone knows anything about flight LA 533 (LAN) to Chile... because all day by phone they told me that the flight was cancel, but I can see on internet right now that is on time... that fly is from toronto, and appears cancel on the internet.
