1) Three hours should be enough time to clear customs and transfer terminals.
2) Jet Blue is T5
3) Take any Airtrain on track 1 (located on 3rd floor of T4)one stop to T5, free.

Hi

On Saturday the 18th of December I have a stop off in JFK airport (from San Francisco to Dublin, Ireland). This stop off is from 7am until about 7pm and I was wondering can I get confirmation please if it is possible to leave JFK airport to do some sightseeing. Will this cause any issues with customs to exit the airport and re-enter later that same day? I will have my ESTA completed but just do not want to book the flights if I cannot leave the airport or if it will cause issues. I am an Irish citizen.
Thanking you in advance for your help in relation to this.
Kindest Regards L

You should be able to leave the airport for sightseeing and return for your flight to Dublin. Your flight from SF to JFK is domestic so no need for customs on arrival. Your departure is international so be sure to arrive back at JFK approx. 3 hours before departure for check-in and security.

Hello, We have a flight 16 th of december from Helsinki to New York. We`d like to move right away to our destination Naples, Florida. Do I have to book national flights from some other airport or what? How is the transportation to these airports arranged? Any suggestions? Thank you very much for your assistance!

The closest airport to Naples with regular passenger service is Ft. Myers, about 45 minutes by car/taxi; Jet Blue has non-stop flights from JFK to Ft. Myers. American Airlines and Delta Airlines fly from JFK to Ft. Myers connecting in Miami or Atlanta respectively. You should book online with these airlines or through your travel agent. You will arrive at JFK, clear customs and proceed to the terminal for the airline you select to get you to Ft. Myers. JFK AirTrain provides free transportation between terminals. You will need to arrange for transportation from Ft. Myers to Naples.

Hi,

I will be arriving 12pm to Jfk on the 24th Nov from Boston, and I will have a long lay-off of 9-hours before continuing my international leg to Singapore.

I am thinking of heading to NYC during that lay-off period, using the Airtrain-LIRR(Penn Station) route.

However, as it is the eve of Thanks-giving holiday,:
- I would like to know if heading back airport, will Penn Station be overly crowded on that day or delay as such?
- What time do you advice coming back from Penn Station to Jfk airport (to have time for security clearance and departing my flight at 9pm)?

Thanks in advance!

The Amtrak area of Penn Station should be very crowded with holiday travelers. LIRR shouldn't be too bad as most of the commuters will be off or going home early. I'd still get back to JFK at least two hours (maybe more depending on how messed up the "opt outs" make the security lines) prior to departure so if you leave Penn Station around 6pm you should be to your terminal by 7pm or even earlier.

What would be the taxi fare from JFK to Brancgburg NJ?

Branchburg is in western NJ and would be a pretty expensive taxi ride, well over $100. There is no direct public transit to Branchburg however the NJ Transit-Raritan Valley line train stops in Somerville, about 10 miles east of Branchburg. From JFK go to Penn Station by NYAS express bus or LIRR from Jamaica Station via AirTrain. Go to www.njtransit.com and use their handy trip planner using Penn Station as the origin station and Somerville as the destination for schedules and fares. Trains require a transfer at Newark.

Security Wait Times on Thursday, November 26th
I will be in New York for the day leaving New York back to Buffalo at 10:40 p.m. flight. What time should I head for the JFK to get the flight back?

Thursday is the 25th, Friday is the 26th. Generally Thanksgiving Day after 12noon and the day after are not too bad. I'd still get to the airport two hours before departure just in case.

What is the latest news on a passenger jet with a reported fire on one wing lands safely at New York's John F Kennedy airport?

good day
how can i get from JFK airport to mount pocono, PA by train?
thank you

JS

You can't by train, only by Martz Trailways bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal. You can check schedules and purchase tickets online at martztrailways.com. NYAS express bus offers service to Port Authority from all terminals ($15) or AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station and then E subway to 42nd St/Port Authority.

Is it possible to have a seightseeing tour through manhatten in the time of a 7:30 h stop in the airport, coming from Miami going to Germany? Is it possible to leave the airport in meantime?
