Yes, the ride from the airport is about an hour either by train or taxi(depending on traffic) It would be tight but you could see Times Square or Rockefeller Center & Fifth Avenue stores - and then go back to the airport. Here's the link for the train to NYC.

I am arriving in jfk from Toronto at 8:27am on delta airlines and was wondering what terminal I have to go through to board my next flight to miami on delta at 10:45am. I have never done this before so I would like some help plz. And would I have to get my luggage? And if u can also answer this question, after I arrive in Miami I will be leaving on AA so would I have to get my luggage? And would I have enough time?

Check the airport monitors for the gate to MIA - most likely it would be the same terminal. Ask Delta if they checked your luggage through(which they will I believe).
You have enough time to transfer.

Thx u soo much

I am flying from a US city to JFK, arriving at terminal 8 and departing to India at terminal 4 two hours later. I would like to know: 1) Do we clear customs at JFK? 2) Is two hours sufficient time to get from terminal 8 to terminal 4 and clear customs?

1. Mo meed to clear customs when you leave USA.
2. Yes.

If I have to clear customs when I leave the USA, then I will need to clear customs at JFK, so question 2 still stands, is 2 hours enough time to get to the terminal AND clear customs?

You will NOT need to clear customs at JFK if arriving on a domestic flight and then departing on an international flight. When you arrive at T8 follow signs to AirTrain and take train on track 2 to T4. Two hours should be enough time to make your connection.

Sorry, for the typographical error - I meant "No need..". Thanks BG, for clarifying the answer.

hi, we are coming to new york on the 3 dec 2010. landing at jfk at 13.05 what is the cheapest way to get to hotel st james,109 W. 45TH ST.
New York, NY 10036. we are departing jfk on 6 dec @ 23.10. what time will we have to leave hotel for airport. thanks

Hi,
first: take AirTrain (dont have to leave arrival terminal, look for the sign "airtrain"--it is all over the place) to Howard Beach stop. get off.
second: on the same platform get on an A train. it will take you right to 42nd street/bus terminal/port authority station. get off, go upstairs--you are on 42nd street. go three blocks up (north)--it will be 45th street. make a right and look for your hotel.

going back to JFK--same way backward, but it will take you a little less time to get there--off rush hours.

my guess, one way trip will take you about 1 hour 15 min, no more then that

hi, thank you for your very helpful advice. much appreciated.

Good morning,

I have a problem because i have to book lunch for 46 persons in the JFK airport and it looks like impossible to contact any little restaurants in the terminal 5 travelling with fly blue.
It will be for Thursday the 25th of November, so please help me with an advice or a number to call.
Thank you.

Best regards

Benoit Crinon
