I would like to travel from San Francisco to Budapest (Hungary). I have found a good prize ticket (American Airlines), but I have to change in New York JFK. I will fly in and out of Terminal 8. I will have 40 minutes (!) to change. Is it enough time to change?

Impossible connection time.
Impossible connection time. You would have to rebook your second flight and allow at least 2 hours between two flights. You would have a chance of making this connection if your first flight arrived early and/or second flight was delayed.

I will arrive at terminal 8 and the connection flight will be at the same terminal. I will have the boarding card and only an hand lagguage. Wich is the best way to get to the gate ? Thanks.
If you arrive on a domestic
If you arrive on a domestic flight you just need to walk from arrival gate to the connecting flight gate. If you arrive via international flight you will need to clear customs, after you exit customs go upstairs to the departure level to clear security to the gate area.

I land at JFK on flight 6136 at 5:40pm and have a connecting flight 1687 at 8pm to Miami. Do I have to go through immigration and customs at JFK? Do I have to collect and recheck my luggage? Are the two flights in the same terminal? Will I likely make my second flight?
You should be able to make
You should be able to make it with 2 hours 20 minute time frame. Yes you will go through immigration and customs assuming that your first flight is international. If your first flight is international after you clear customs and immigration you will need to recheck your bags for your second flight. If both flights are on Delta then yes it will be the same terminal.

Terminal 8 question
We are arriving at Terminal 8 on a domestic flight and leaving from terminal 8 on an international flight. Our luggage will be checked all the way through. Will we need to do anything besides change planes. We have over 2 1/2 hours to make our connection, but want to make sure that is enough time. Thanks so much.

No security involved in this case. All you will have to do is to check in for your second flight with American Airlines and it looks like you have a good time frame on your hands for a flight connection.

Orlando to Heathrow connecting at JFK
Later this year we are flying back home to the UK after a family holiday that connects at JFK. We are flying American Airlines from Orlando to JFK and then American Airlines to London Heathrow. Both are to and from Terminal 8.

Our flight JFK - London Heathrow AA106 Departs JFK T8 @ 23:10
Providing our domestic flight arrives at JFK on time will 55 minutes be enough to make it to our departure gate for our flight to LHR?
Our travel agent assures us that our bags should be checked all the way through from Orlando to LHR so we shouldn't have to reclaim or go through customs.
Can somebody please put my mind at ease that we'll be ok?

Yes your bags should be clipped all the way to London UK. 55 minutes is a tight connection time but not impossible if your arriving flight like you mentioned is on time. Most likely there will be no security involved in the process at JFK airport. Make sure you watch gate number on your boarding pass once you come out of the plane from Orlando.

TOday I will be arriving at 8 pm to Terminal 8 in the JFK, Gate 32 G. I need to take another flight at 10 pm at Gate 6, Terminal 8. I am 77 years old. How much walking time do you think it takes?

My return flight is Norfolk (ORF)- Madrid (MAD) - Seville (SVQ) with the first layover at JFK Airport T8 (Airline - AA).
I have 1 hr and 15 mins to make my flight to MAD Spain. I understand that since my flights are on AA, they are therfore in the same terminal. And, my bags are checked all the way to SVQ and I have my boarding pass, so I just need to go to the gate. So, the time frame is okay, correct?
However, if my flight is delayed, what will happen to me and my children? Will AA put me on a flight the next day?
I am worried about 1-is 1.5 hrs enough time and 2-what happens if I experience delays in my first flight.
