Take the NYAS bus ($15) from
Take the NYAS bus ($15) from any terminal to Penn Station. Then take Amtrak train to Boston which terminates at South Station. Both Megabus and Boltbus also go to Boston (around $20, way cheaper than Amtrak) leaving from just outside Penn Station but not sure where they will drop you off in Boston.

We are driving into JFK from Secaucus, NJ, for a flight out on Jet Blue. We need to return a rental car from Avis. Any help or directions we can get to return our car at Avis and get to the Jet Blue terminals. I appreciate your time.

When you enter the airport
When you enter the airport area follow signs for rental car returns to Avis. There is an Airtrain stop closeby that will take you to all terminals, Jet Blue is T5.

I've rented cars from most
I've rented cars from most major companies for trips north of the border and have had no problem as long as you return to the original rental location, no one way trips. You should let them know you are crossing the border when you make a reservation and they'll tell you if there are any restrictions.

Avis not answering the phone today
If you've been trying to call Avis today (5/10/2010), they are not answering the phone, or perhaps the phone isn't working. I'm *guessing* it's a real phone system problem, but there's apparently no way to get hold of them at the moment. Even the central office is unable to contact them.
