JFK International Airport AirTrain

AirTrain JFK is the train service that operates between JFK
International Airport, Long Island Rail Road trains and New York City Subway.
It also serves as an on-airport service connecting the airline terminals, rental
car facilities, hotel shuttles, and airport parking lots.

Air Train JFK has
3 routes:

  • Howard Beach route

The Howard Beach route ends at the Howard Beach-JFK subway station. It stops
at Lefferts Boulevard (connecting transit services - B15 bus) for shuttle buses
to long term parking lots A and B and to airport employee parking.

Connecting transit services: A subway train, Q11 bus

  • Jamaica Station route

The Jamaica route ends at Jamaica Station on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)
next to the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue-JFK subway station (to Brooklyn
and Manhattan or Queens).

trains, Q6, Q8, Q9, Q20A, Q20B, Q25/Q34, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q43, Q44, Q60  and
Q65 buses

Both routes make a counterclockwise loop through the airport and stop at each
terminal.

  • Airline Terminal route

The Airline Terminal route connects 6 terminal stations (Terminal 1, 2-3,
4, 5-6, 7 and 8-9). Route operates in the opposite direction, making a clockwise

All JFK AirTrain stations are wheelchair accessible. Howard Beach subway and

There is no charge to ride AirTrain from Terminal 4 to Lefferts Boulevard station. Follow signs in Terminal 4 to reach the AirTrain station, which is on the upper level of the terminal.

thanks!

Can someone please explain to me how to get from JFK to the Hicksville station?

AirTrain from JFK to Jamaica; Long Island Rail Road from Jamaica to Hicksville. Long Island Rail Road schedule and fare information can be found at www.mta.info.

Hi, I´m helping a friend checking in at terminal 5 later today. My flight to San Diego leaves from terminal 8 at 5.15 pm. When should I be leaving terminal 5 in order not to be late for checking in for my flight at terminal 8? /Thanks.

At 3PM.

Hi!
Iʻm from Hawaii and visiting New York City for the first time! How do I get from JFK to Van Dam Street in Long Island city using the subway?

AirTrain to Jamaica Station. Then, Manhattan-bound "E" train to Roosevelt Avenue/Jackson Heights, and transfer to a Manhattan-bound #7 train to 33rd Street/Queens Boulevard. If you want to avoid taking two subways, you can instead take a Manhattan-bound Q-60 bus from Jamaica Station to 33rd Street, but the bus ride will take longer.

Note that if your particular destination on Van Dam Street is not close to Queens Boulevard, you might have a long walk (or short taxi ride) to get there. Map the location on www.mapquest.com to see how far it is from Queens Boulevard.

I live by the D train i need to get to JFK using the the air train my flight leave at 645 pm thru British airways i want to get there the easiest way possible and what is this service disruption mean will this affect me getting to the airtrain i dont wanna pay a taxi from the bronx to JFK
Thank you

D train to Seventh Avenue station in Manhattan; then, Queens-bound E train on the lower level to Sutphin/Archer/JFK station. AirTrain from there to your terminal. There is normal AirTrain service until 9:00 PM nightly.

Caution: on weekday afternoons, some E trains run along the F line in Queens. Make sure you board an E train whose destination sign reads "Jamaica Center," or "Parsons/Archer."

Allo,

I'm landind at JFK airport and I want to get to Wall Street, do you know which is the best way to get there? Do I have to use train only or subway?

thanks in advance

You will need to take the subway to reach Manhattan. Take a "Howard Beach" AirTrain from your terminal to the last stop. At Howard Beach station, take a Manhattan-bound "A" train to "Fulton Street"; Wall Street is a short walk from there.

There is also a slightly less expensive option: From JFK Terminal 4, you can take a Q-10 or Q-10 Limited bus to Lefferts Boulevard and Liberty Avenue, and board the "A" train to Manhattan from there. This route will likely take a little longer than the AirTrain/subway combination.

Hi, I would like to ask you, if the Airtrain is operating 24 hours? We´ll arrive to JFK at 2:00am on saturaday 17th September and we need to get to penn station about at 6:30am, how is the best way to get there? Thank you for reponse
.

AirTrain is scheduled to resume 24-hour service before the end of August, so yes, you should be able to ride the AirTrain at 2:00 AM in September. Take a Jamaica-bound AirTrain to Jamaica Station. From there, you can take the Long Island Rail Road at 3:08 AM to Penn Station (select the "City Ticket" option at the ticket vending machine to get the discounted $3.75 weekend fare); or you can take a Manhattan-bound "E" subway from Jamaica to Penn Station for $2.25 per person if you purchase a Metrocard, or $2.50/person if you purchase a single-ride ticket. At that hour of the morning, there should be a subway train every 20-25 minutes, but I would recommend taking the Long Island Rail Road instead, if you can catch the 3:08 AM departure.

I need to take the Airtrain this Thursday morning to make a 9:30 am flight. I know the service advisory says service to the Howard Beach stop resumes normal service after 7am. Has this been happening without delay? I don't want to arrive at 8am to find they haven't resumed running to Howard Beach. How quickly to they actually get that service back in order every morning?
