My wife is travelling from Cochin to Montreal. She has a transit in JFK. The flight arrivals at Terminal 4(Emirates) and the flight leaves to Montreal from terminal 8. She has 45 minutes transit. Can you elaborate the transit procedure. What are the immigration procedures? What she can do in order not to miss her connection flight? If she misses her flight, what can be done.

I will be honest with you - 45 minutes for transfer at JFK(especially when you arrive international) is not enough. She will have 30-40 min to pass immigration, pick up her bags(if she has any) and go through US customs.
I will go with the scenario if she misses her flight - then she has to go to Emirates Airline and have them reschedule her AA flight with the next available one.

Can you also tell me the procedure for getting the connection flight. She will check in the baggage in Montreal. Does she need to recheck the luggage in JFK?
If she has to do, where will she do this? In terminal 8 or terminal 4? I read in web, she can get help to recheck from Emirates Connecting Flight Counter?

She can transfer her bags at Emirates Connecting flights counter at T4(right after customs). Or she can carry her bags to T8 and re-check them in there.
But since she is going through US customs at JFK she has to pick up her bags here, at JFK.
There is no need to go through immigration and customs in Montreal.

Best way to get from JFK to NY Penn Station?
Hello,
I am expecting a friend to arrive on Monday, April 26 around 4:45 p.m. on Royal Air Maroc, and need for him to get to the NY Penn Station to catch a train to Madison, NJ where I can pick him up. It is his first visit to the US and so I am hoping to find the least complicated route to get him to Madison station.
Any advice? And how much would the fare be, and how much time should we estimate/budget for him to get through everything and arrive in Madison?

In this case I would not suggest him to get public transportation even it is the cheapest way.
There is a door-to-door service that can take him to Penn Station for as little as $18.50. Let him book it at Ground Transportation counter at Terminal 1. It takes 1hr-1.5 hrs for the shuttle to take him there.
The other alternative is a yellow cab - it will cost him flat fare of $50.50 to Penn Station.It is faster(40-50 mins) service.
Let us know if he(or you) still considers public transportation($7.25,50min-1.5 hrs).

Estoy llegando el 23 de Mayo a la terminal 4 a las 05.45pm y debo tomar un vuelo de Jet Blue en terminal 5 a las 8.40pm a Chicago, por favor me puede informar que tramites debo realizar y que medios tengo para trasladarme de la terminal 4 a la terminal 5, se puede ir caminando.

De terminal 4 hasta el terminal 5 puedes ir por Airtrain en el tercer piso track #1. Sales en la proxima parada. O puedes caminar por el primer sales, y camina por la mano derecha hasta la proxima edificio. Cual quiera de los dos maneras dura como diez minutos. Tienes casi tres horas de medio para cambiar de vuelos. Te da tiempo.

Cargo Flights
Just wondering if anyone knows when cargo flights will be cleared to take off after the backlog of passenger flights? Waiting on my wedding dress and USPS told me the backlog may be weeks?? :(

What kind of train to I need to take to get to either Trenton NJ or Little Silver NJ from the airport?

Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then either:
-take subway line E to Penn Station(total fare - $7.25) or
-take LIRR to Penn Station(faster;total fare ~ $13;less on weekends).
From Penn Station take either Amtrak to Trenton (fare:$37-$63;travel time:1hr) or NJ Transit to Little Silver,NJ(fare:$11.75;travel time: 1hour 20min).
