American and Delta have
American and Delta have flights from JFK to DC-Reagan National. There are quite a few bus lines that go from NY to DC, see the bus section on this site. Some leave from midtown around Penn Station and some leave from Chinatown. You can also take Amtrak from Penn Station to DC. To get to Penn Station take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station and transfer to E subway or LIRR to Penn Station. To get to Chinatown, take the J subway from Jamaica to Essex St.
transportation
We are planning a trip to New York in Aug 2010. We will be flying into JFK> and staying on Lexington Street. Are there any transportation services that service Lexington street and approx cost for 3 people? Any info would help :) thanks!
re:Are there any transportation services that service Lexington
1. Taxi
Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50). The price is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.
2. Public
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to Lexington Ave stop .Cost-$7.25/passenger.
3. Shuttle
There is shuttle(look for it at Ground transportation
counter or Welcome Center) that goes to any address in Manhattan for $18.50-$25.00 per person.

And an extra situation..where can I leave my luggage for just one day? It seems to be on terminal 8 but not sure.
I would really appreciate your help.
Thank you.

Hi! Please help! How can I
Hi! Please help! How can I get from JFK airport to Penn Station, we're a party of three. We arrive at 3pm and have to be there at 5:15 pm. What would be our best option?
re: How can I get from JFK airport to Penn Station
1. By public transportation:
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going two different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then either:
-take subway line E to Penn Station(total fare - $7.25;~1 hour) or
-take LIRR train to Penn Station(faster;total fare ~ $12, less on the weekends; 35-45 min.)
2. By taxi:
Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50). The price is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.Travel time - 40-45 min.

Penn Station
I need to travel from Penn Station to JFK. My flight leaves at 9:15 pm on Sunday, so I'd like to arrive at JFK by 7:15 pm. How should I go? How much time should I allow?
Thank you!
re:Penn Station
From Penn Station you can either take LIRR train to Jamaica Station or subway E(direction Jamaica, Queens)to Sutphin Blvd stop.
From Jamaica Station/Sutphin Blvd take Airtrain to JFK terminals.
Allow yourself 40-50 min if you take LIRR or 50-60 min. if you take subway.
