Public Transportation from Baltimore to JFK
My college-age son must meet his group at JFK at 2:00PM on 5/31/10, Memorial Day for a Swiss Air flight departing at 6:00PM. Since road traffic will be crazy that weekend, what's the best way for him to get from Baltimore to JFK in time?

- Amtrak to Penn Station in Manhattan and then either LIRR to Jamaica Station or subway E to Sutphin Blvd stop.
or
- Greyhound bus to Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan and then subway E to Sutphin Blvd stop.
Once at Jamaica Station/Sutphin Blvd stop take Airtrain to JFK Terminals.

Thank You for your help. How long should he allow for LIRR or subway E to Jamaica Station/Sutphin Blvd. to Airtrain to JFK?

Subway E comes every 10 minutes and it takes 1hr-1:15 min for subway + Airtrain.
LIRR train leaves Penn Station every 20-30 minutes and it will take 40-50 min for LIRR+Airtrain.
Airtrain is every 5 min.

Best way to get to Clifton NJ
Hi we are a family of five landing around 9.30 pm from the UK, so after customs will be outside around 10.30-11 pm and we need to get to Clifton NJ, I have been quoted anything from $109-180 for the taxi, not too sure what is the correct price anymore, my husband would like to take the train, is it a long way to get there from JFK at night, or should we just stick to the taxi any help would be great.

Taxi would be around $110.
Here is the way with public.
Take Airtrain to Jamaica Station; price $5.
Then either:
-transfer to Subway E to Penn Station; price $2.25
-transfer to LIRR train to Penn Station(faster); price ~$8.
Take New Jersey Transit train to Clifton; price $5.50.
The latest one is around 1:20am.
There is a bus as well from Port Authority Station in Manhattan that might be more convenient for you.

Terminal 5 Jet Blue
2 questions- Flight departs JFK Jet Blue to the Dominican Republic. The graphic indicates that Terminal 5 (Jet Blue) is closed? What terminal is now used for Jet Blue? How much lead time is needed for check-in, security at Jet Blue for a 5:45AM flight?

The graphic shows the old terminal 5(former TWA building). Right behind it is the new Jet Blue Terminal 5 which is open and functioning.
Allow at least 2-2.5 hours prior to departure time for check-in and security.

No airlines fly from JFK to New Haven. US Air has flights from LaGuardia to New Haven connecting in Philadelphia, nothing direct. Best bet is to take a bus or train, it will take almost as long if not faster than flying to Philly from LGA and connecting. Amtrak leaves from Penn Station and bus from Port Authority Bus terminal; you can reach both from JFK by NYAS bus or E subway from Jamaica Station via Airtran from your terminal.

How much time does it take to get from Delta flight #123 from Shannon to JFK arriving at 1:30pm through customs then connecting to Delta flight #141 leaving at 2:49pm?

It shouldn't be more than 40-50 min. Goof news is that you don't have to change the building , but you have to clear security again.
