1.By taxi:
Yellow cab (from JFK to any point to Manhattan) costs flat rate of $45 + bridge toll($5.50). The price is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.

2.Shuttle:
There is shuttle(look for it at Ground transportation
counter or Welcome Center) that goes to any hotel in Manhattan for $18.50 per person.

3. Public transportation:
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Howard Beach Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the green colored sign is Howard Beach one). Then take subway line A to Columbus Circle stop, then transfer to line 1 going the same direction; get off 79th street stop (cost-$7.25).Walk one block and half west on W79th street - the hotel would be on your right hand side.

Hello,

Is there shrink wrap service for luggage in JFK Airport? If so, where is it and how far is it from Terminal 1, and how much does it cost?

Thank you.

what is the rate for handicap parking per day (parking for 5 days)

The short term rate for handicapped parking is $18/day(versus $33/day for regular).

Hi,
Can you please tell me the way to go from JFK to the Carlton hotel in Manhattan using public transportation. The hotel address is 88 Madison Ave. Where do I purchase the tickets and how long will it take?.Thank you.

Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going to different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then take subway line E to Lexington Ave stop and transfer to line 6 going downtown. Get off at 28th street stop. Cost- $7.25/passenger. Walk one block north on Park Ave, make left on E29th street and walk one block. The hotel is at the intersection of E29th street and Madison Ave. Travel time - 1:15hrs - 1:30hrs.
You purchase the tickets(for Airtrain and subway) at Jamaica Station.

Hello,

I need to get from JFK to W. 261 St in the Bronx. Would you please tell me what's the best way, how much it will cost, and how long it will take if I'm arriving about 5:45 PM on Tues?

Thanks!

1. By public transportation:
Take Airtrain from any terminal on track 1 to Jamaica Station( be careful - on that track there are two alternating trains going two different routes; check the sign above the doors as the train arrives; the red colored sign is Jamaica one). Then either:
-take subway line E to Penn Station(total fare - $7.25;~1 hour) or
-take LIRR train to Penn Station(faster;total fare ~ $12, less on the weekends; 35-45 min.)
From Penn Station take Metro-North train (Hudson Line) to Riverdale station. At the station you can take a taxi to the address. Total cost shouldn't be more than $15-$20.

2. By taxi:
Yellow cab will charge you on the meter(~$50-$60) . The price is for the whole taxi, not per passenger.

Metro North-Hudson line departs from Grand Central, NOT Penn Station. Only the Metro North lines that cross the Hudson depart from Penn Station. To get to Grand Central by public transportation take the E subway from Jamaica to Lexington/53rd station and transfer to the downtown #6 subway to Grand Central, or take the NYAS bus from JFK.

My bad, the correct station for Metro-North train(Hudson line) is Grand Central.

I'd like to file a complaint about how low these airplanes fly into JFK. I am a resident of Springfield Gardens and almost every night in the spring and summer my car alarm goes off because of how low the plans fly over this section of queens. This problem needs to be addressed promptly!

I'm leaving out of JFK on May 28th around 9:00 a.m headed to Orlando. I know that its usually a very busy holiday and I should arrive at least 3 hours earlier in any case but should I arrive even earlier in advance since it is Memorial day weekend? Do you guys have forecasts and do you expect long wait times to check in? I just wanna be sure that I wont miss my flight due to extremely long lines.

Thank you!

It is always "crazy" around the holidays, so I will advice you to give yourself an extra hour.

My wife and I will be arriving from Munich, and we'll need to catch our next flight from LaGuardia 4 hours and 20 minutes after landing at JFK. She is immigrating permanently to the U.S., and will of course need to pass through all the the necessary POE inspections. Depending that we travel to LaGuardia by taxi, should we still have enough time to make it there for our next flight?

Thank you.

It is very hard to determine if you will have enough time. First time people immigrating permanently in USA can be held inside immigration up to 3-4 hours.
I would advice you to let(nicely) the immigration officers that you have connecting flight in 4 hours by showing them the ticket out of LGA.
Good luck!
