Terminal 4 has a lounge named "Oasis". It costs $40 to use it .

Some lounges have showers , check the website.

I land in Terminal 4, and am meeting friend in Terminal 3. What is the best way to get between the terminals, and where is the best place for me to meet her?

Meet at T4(1st floor , by Travelex) since it is less confusing. Take Airtrain between the terminals.

You can take Airtrain on track 2 one stop from T4 to T3. You'll need to arrange to meet somewhere outside of the security checkpoint as you cannot enter the gate area without a boarding pass for that terminal.

This will be my first time traveling to the US.

I am suppose to Leave Trinidad on Aug 1st 2010 at 9am. And reach in JFK NY at Aug 1st 2010 at 2pm. From my research I will be arriving at terminal 4 and have to get to terminal 3 Then a take a flight from JFK to ALBANY Aug 1st 2010 at 8:35PM. And reach in ALB INT Airport Aug 1st 2010 at 10pm.

I am walking with one luggage bag and a backpack. Can anyone just give me a run down of the process i will need to follow to get from Terminal 4 to Terminal 3 , as in stepping of the Plane and collecting my bag and checking in for the flight to ALB.

Any pointers will be great.

Here is the whole process:
- disembark the plane;
- go through US immigration
- find out which belt the bags are coming on. Get the luggage.
- go through US customs.
- after that look for Connecting flights counters(it is on the left immediately after you exit customs). There you will transfer the bags at the counter of the airline that brought you to JFK onto your next Delta flight.
- go to the third floor(follow the signs for the Airtrain) where the Airtrain platform is located.
- take train on track 2 to Terminal 3; it is very next stop(1 min free ride);
- cross over to Terminal 3, go through security and look for gate number for your flight to Albany.

Thank you so much, this is exactly what I needed. One other question though seeing that my flight to Albany from JFK is more than 4 hours apart from when I arrive in JFK how soon should i trasfer my bags to delta or should i go grab a bite to eat and relax and check in with delta when there is about an hour or two before my flight.

Thanks once again this was of great help

You can check with Delta 24 hours in advance and less.

this is an amazing service and has been super helpful.

My flight on 15/07/2010 (it´s thursday) arrives from Madrid to JFK at 16.05 pm, and my next flight to Chicago goes at 20.00 pm from La Guardia. Both flights with American Airlines. Is this time (4 hours) enough to the immigration and custom process, get my suitcase, go to the other airport and there check in? (I´m citizen of the EU) And wich is faster between the two airports, taxi or shuttle?
Thank you!

You should be OK. Take a taxi - it is faster(20-30 min,~$30).

Hello,
My wife will arrive at terminal 1 with two very young children on 06/19. She needs to transfer from terminal 1 to terminal 5. Considering the luggage and the children, it is pretty challenge to her. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

FF

Let her ask a baggage handler - they may help her. Or let her take a taxi(it will cost her ~$10).

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
