Need a help
I just wanted to ask few questions:
1. How can I fast and easily get to the JFK airport from Garfield, NJ? How much time can it take?
2. I have a plane to Minneapolis scheduled on 26th of July at 10:55 am (Sun Country Airlines). Which terminal and gate should I head to?

First: use 160 New York bus to travel as below
From : MIDLAND AVE. & PASSAIC ST, Garfiend to PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERM [41ST & 8TH ENT]
Travel time About 45 mins , cost $5-6 )
Second: from 42ND ST - PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERM take the JAMAICA CENTER-PARSONS/ARCHER bound E Train and get off at SUTPHIN BLVD-ARCHER AV/JFK (travel time about 1/2 hour, cost $3-4)
Third: take the JAMAICA STATION TO JFK bound AIRTRAIN and get off at JFK AIRTRAIN TERMINAL 4 (Travel time about 15 mins)
2. Sun country flights depart from Terminal 4.
Gate number can be found after going to terminal 4

clearing customs
I am a US citizen returning on 07/13 flying in from frankfurt hahn. My arrival time is 2:20 in terminal 3 on Delta. I have a connecting flight also on delta from terminal three at 3:50 into BWI airport. This is my first international flight and return; what happens when we land at JFK and are we going to have enough time to catch our connection?

You will be landing at T3.
You will be landing at T3. Here is the sequence of the events after that:
1. go through US immigration
2. pick up the bags
3. go through US customs
4. recheck the bags at Delta connecting flights counter
5. clear the security and head to the gate for your connecting flight.
The time frame that you have is enough.
Customs & connecting flights
I will arrive @ JFK on an Emirates flight at 14:15 on 10/1. I am making reservations to continue on to Lexington KY (LEX) and I have 2 options that day with Delta. A 16:00 flight from JFK or an 18:00 flight from LGA. Can I get through customs, change terminals and get to the JFK flight (1.75 hours) or should I plan to taxi over to LGA on Friday afternoon (3.75 hours)? both seem tight.

To me , more convenient flight looks the one at LGA. Plan on to spent 30-50 min in customs/immigration, grab a taxi to LGA afterwards(~$30)which will take you another 30-40mins roughly. You should be fine 2hrs in advance at LGA for your Delta flight.
And hope Emirates is not late.

power outages
Hello we have a flight to reykjavik tomorrow at 20.30. Are the power problems in New York city (because of the heat etc) going to affect our flight? Or is JFK prepared for this kind of situations.

Customs & connecting flights
I will be arriving at JFK on 10/1 via Emirates from Dubai & Tanzania at 14:15. I am making arrangements to return to Lexington KY (LEX) on that same day and have a choice of a 16:00 flight from JFK. Is this possible or would a 18:00 from LGA be better?

Transfer time between terminal 4 an 8
Hi
I am travelling with Virgin Atlantic to JFK on October 2nd 2010. We will be arriving at 16:40 at terminal 4 and be departing from terminal 8 with American airlines to San Juan at 18:30.
I would just like to know if we will have enough time to collect our baggage and check them in with American Airlines and clear customs. Also what would be the quickest way to do so.

It is kind of tight since you have to clear immigration/customs. Hope that VA is not late.
At T4 take Airtrain on the third floor, on any track to T8.
And don't forget to transfer your bags at VA(connecting flights counter rights after customs at T4.

TRIP TO USA
Hi,
We are traveling from Brussels to JFK with AA arriving at 12:25 and have a connection flight wit AA to LAX at 14:00
Will we have enough time considering immigration ? Do we need to pick up our luggage ? Do we need to change terminal ?
