Hello,
I have a flight from JFK to Salt Lake City at 2.49 pm. I am planning to take the 6.30 am Fung Wah bus from Boston to NY, the subway from Canal St to Grand Central and the airport shuttle from Grand Central to JFK ... do you think I will be able to do that in time to make my flight at 2.49? Is that cutting it too close? I was thinking of taking a taxi from the bus stop to Grand Central, if necessary. How much would that cost? Thank you!!! Jessie

Hello Jessie,
What time does Fung Wah bus arrive at Canal street?
Remember, you have to be at the airport no later than 12:30 for your flight. The NYAS bus(every 20 mins) from Grand Central will take around 1 hour to reach JFK, subway from Canal street area to Grand Central will take around 15mins.
You can grab a taxi straight from Canal street area - it will be the same flat fare as you would have taken it from Grand Central($50.50+tip).

We are moving to Stamford and my wife is looking to work at JFK. I know she can take a bus to Grand Central but is there a commuter bus, train or shuttlethat goes faster or easier?

She can take the Metro North commuter train from Stamford to Grand Central, uptown #6 subway one stop to 51st St., transfer to Queens-bound E subway to Sutphin Blvd./JFK and Airtrain from there to JFK, or take the NYAS bus from Grand Central to JFK. One-way fares: Metro North-$18 (peak), subways ($2.25), Airtrain ($5), NYAS bus ($15).

CT Limo shuttle goes from Stamford to JFK for $60 and Prime Time Shuttle (door-to-door) service costs $69.
It is expensive way of commuting to work compared to the one through Grand Central.

Is there any direct bus line from JFK to any stop(anywhere) of bus line31/32?

Which bus line 31/32...Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island, etc.? If you mean Queens, the routes are the Q31 (Jamaica-Bayside) and Q32 (Jackson Hgts-Penn Station). You can catch the Q31 at Jamaica Station by taking Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica. You can catch the Q32 at the Jackson Hgts/Roosevelt Ave stop on the E train from Jamaica. If you mean the Nassau County N31/N32 (Far Rockaway-Hempstead) take Airtrain to Howard Beach Station and then the Far Rockaway-bound (NOT the Rockaway Park-bound) A subway to the end, bus is at Central/Mott Aves.

I'm reaching to JFK airport on Aug, 29th 8:30pm
Is there any bus or shuttle(or any cheap transportation) to Hartford, CT??? (or any other cities in CT)

CT Limo shuttle will take you to Hartford. The price is around $90. You can book the service at Ground transportation counter or Welcome Center.

Inquire at the Ground Transportation counter when you arrive about shuttles or shared shuttle service. Regular Greyhound bus service leaves from Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan and the NYAS express bus ($15) to Port Auth leaves from each terminal approximately every 30 minutes.

What's the best way to travel from JFK to Stuyvesant, NY October 8, 2010? I see there's a bus that goes that route, but no price. Do you know how much it costs to take a bus? Is the bus safe for a 30-something woman from rural Minnesota? I've checked the train rates, taking Airtrain to Penn Station and Amtrack to Albany, but the times aren't fitting to my travel times. I arrive at JFK at 7:30pm and depart JFK to go home at 10:55am on October 12. Please help. I don't want to make my friends drive all the way from Stuyvesant to the City.

I hate all you carpetbaggers who move from all over the country and come into our city.

"Is it safe for a 30-something woman from rural Minnesota?"

You know, if you need to ask that then you should move back to your hick redneck town in Minnesota. You'll fit in with the rest of the farmers.

Greyhound from Port Authority Bus Terminal goes to Albany ($31), departures on 10/8 at 9pm, 11pm and 11:30pm. Return to NY on 10/12 leaving Albany at 4:25am arriving NYC 7:15am, you'd be at JFK around 8:30am. Did not see a Stuyvesant stop on the route. Amtrak's Empire train to Albany ($37) from Penn Station (also stops at Hudson ($32) south of Stuyvesant) departs on 10/8 at 8:50pm or 11:50pm. Return to NY on 10/12 leaving Albany at 4:50am or Hudson at 5:15am arriving NYC at 7:10am. There are NYAS express buses to/from JFK and Penn Station or Port Authority from each terminal or E subway from either location to Jamaica and Airtrain to terminal. As you'll be traveling in the wee hours of the morning I'd suggest the train to Hudson or Albany and your friends can meet you there.

I will be arriving at JFK terminal 3 at 15:04 pm. What is the convenient and economic way to Port Authority? My final destination is Hyatt Place Secaucus NJ.

NYAS express bus to Port Authority leaves from each terminal every 30 minutes, cost is $15. Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station and then E subway to 42nd St./Port Authority is $7.25.
