My wife and I are due to arrive JFK on Dec. 17th from FRA, Germany at 7:45 PMat Terminal 1. Following morning we fly UA to LAX at 6:30 AM from Terminal 7. We are considering staying overnight at the airport. Is this possible, and if so, is there an all night restaurant or similiar or lounge chairs available at terminal 7?

Only terminal 4 is open 24 hours and has all night food available. You would need to arrive at T7 with enough time for check-in and security.
pick-up time after customs
Friends are arriving JFK on Finnair today at 3:50pm and I'm trying to figure out what time to arrive at the airport by car to pick them up.
I know customs & immigration can take a while depending on the time of day... could anyone here tell me the average delay between the flight's actual arrival at the gate and the time when people walk out of the terminal? If your flight gets in to terminal 8 at 3:50pm on a Wednesday, what time are you likely to walk out the doors of the terminal? thanks!

If my flight to Toronto departs at 11:05am by LAN airlines, will there be sufficient time to clear customs, immigration and collect luggage before checking in for LAN airline as its website said to check in 3 hours earlier? And how do I move from terminal 7 to terminal 4? Thanks.

You'll have to check with the rental car companies regarding rates and terms. Drive time from JFK to Newark, DE is about 3 hours more or less depending on traffic, plus around $20 in tolls (Verrazano Bridge, NJ Turnpike, Delaware Memorial Bridge, Delaware Turnpike).

Certain citizens from certain countries who was NSEERSed on the way into the US would need to be checked with the CBP NSEERS office. The NSEERS, National Security Entry-Exit Registration System, office is located in Terminal 4 on the Arrival level next to the transfer desks. The process normally takes about 5 minutes. However, if there are many people waiting outside the office, the wait could be long. You need to get the boarding pass first before CBP officers can clear you.

I arrive at JFK on Friday
I arrive at JFK on Friday October 29th and need to get to Seacaucs New Jersey. I was told that I can take one train from the airport to the Seacacus Junction. Is that correct, or will I need to change trains somewhere? What train do I take from JFK, and where do I go to catch it? I'm also interested to know the approximate cost and length of time it will take to do the journey.

You will need to make a few
You will need to make a few transfers along the way. First take AirTrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station ($5), then transfer to either LIRR (faster, more expensive $8/$5.75 off peak, overhead luggage racks) or E subway ($2.25) to Penn Station, transfer to any NJ Transit train ($4) to next stop at Secaucus Junction. It takes about 45 minutes to one hour to Penn Station via LIRR (add another 15-20 mins by subway), 15 minutes from Penn Station to Secaucus Jct.
