I will be arriving on a BA flight into JFK T7 and need to get to T1 to catch an Aero Mexico flight. I have 2 hours from the time the first plane lands until the second one leaves. Is this enough time? I guess I need to go through immigration, collect my luggage and then re-check my luggage? Where do I get the airtrain and how long does it take? I will arrive at 10.45pm so I'm hoping at that time there won't be too many people? Thanks in advance

To whom it may concern,
We just notice in our flight tickets that there is only a 1h 15min to connect from a flight arriving from Barcelona (SPAIN) to another one to Juan Santamaria (Costa Rica). Even if we are in the same Terminal (8), do you think we will have enough time?

Arrival: 13:55 JFK, terminal 8
American Airlines AA151

Departure: 15:10 JFK, terminal 8
American Airlines AA611

This will be a tight connection as even though you are arriving and departing from the same terminal, you will need to clear customs, drop your bags at the AA connecting flights counter and head back up to the departure level to clear security for your departure.

We will arrive with AA 1384 at T8 on 7.35 PM on January 7th, and have a flight from T4 to Heathrow at 10.25 PM - VS 010. Do we have to pick up our luggage at T8 and go through immigration before we go to T4, or can we check in our luggage all the way home, and stay in transit without going through the immigration?

Where do we go and how do we get from T8 to T4?

Kari

If you arrive on a US domestic flight you will not need to clear customs at JFK, only if you arrive international. If domestic, ask AA if they will check your bags all the way to Heathrow and give you a boarding pass for that flight. If not, you'll need to pick up your bags from AA at T8 and take them to T4 to check-in with VS. Take AirTrain on track 2 from T8 to T4.

Thanks for your answer. We will arrive with AA 1384 from Bridgetown, Barbados, so I guess that means we have to clear customs before we can take the Air Train from T8 to T4?

Regards,
Kari

Correct, you will clear customs on arrival and then take AirTrain to T4.

I'm arriving at T8 with AA from Malpensa to Mexico City. I'm stopping in JFK for 4 hours and i going to take another flight at T1 with AM.
I'm not making the new chek-in because the tiket in only one operated by AA. So I Would to know if i must get trought immigration and custom, and how is the normal time. And how is the fast way to go from T8 to T1?
Thanks a lot. Francesca

You have to go through immigration, pick up the bags , go through US customs and then re-check the bags at AA connecting flights counter. Then go to the second floor of T8 and follow the signs to the Airtrain - take it on track 2 to Terminal 1. It is free and it takes only 8 mins. to get there.

I am arriving at Terminal 8 and going to take another flight at terminal 4, How do I do? Is there any internal transportation? Any map that I can download from web? Thanks

Take AirTrain on track 2 from T8 to T4. Trains run every few minutes and it's free. See the AirTrain link on this site for a map.

We'll fly from LHR to JFK T8 arrive 10.55pm our next flight is 08.00am same terminal both flights are AA. We will not stay in a hotel, is T8 open 24/7? Any suggestions on what to do during the waiting hours?
Thank you in advance for reply.

The only open terminal 24/7 is T4.
