He must have a valid boarding pass for terminal 7 to clear security in order to access the Air Canada lounge, however that terminal is not open 24 hrs. Terminal 4 is open 24 hours, he can pass the time there.

You will need to clear Customs and Immigration upon your arrival in the U.S and then you will need to recheck it with American Airlines to Boston.

China Eastern Conx
Wife and small kids will be arriving JFK from Tampa on Delta flight (terminal 3) at about 2:55. They have connecting international flight on China Eastern (terminal 1?), sked to depart JFK at 4:35 pm. Have been told conx time is tight, but doable. Questions: Will they have to collect bags from Delta and re-check at China Eastern counter? If so, don't see how 90 minutes is sufficient time. Re-booking advised? Tks

If China Eastern have a luggage agreement with Delta then your bags should be tagged all the way to your final destination. Make sure you check with Delta in Tampa or even give China Eastern or Delta a call before your departure. Phone numbers for both airlines are provided on this webpage. Once you arrive at terminal 3 on Delta take an air train on track 2 to terminal 1. It should not take more than 1 minute. You should have enough time to make that connection even if you will have to recheck your bags with China Eastern providing your flight is on time. However, if you feel uncomfortable with that time frame you may rebook your flight if you wish. Better safe than sorry.

How do I get from jfk terminal 1 to terminal 5?
1) By taxi? How much does it cost etc.?
2) by bus? Which line and where is the bus station?
3) by train? etc.etc.

Take an air train from terminal 1 on track 1 to terminal 5. Two minute trip and free of charge as long as you stay within the airport. No need to take taxi,bus in this case.
