Do i need a transit visa
I am a Mauritian national and i have a connecting flight. I am traveling from Mauritius to Bermuda Island. In my flight itinerary im connecting in JFK, and i am landing in Terminal 4 from Dubai and my next flight to bermuda by American Airlines is on Terminal 8.Do i need a transit visa for this purpose as i am from Mauritius and how about my luggage, will it be transferred automatically?
Please reply back
You will require a valid
You will require a valid transit visa. Ask your air carrier to JFK if they have a baggage agreement with American Airlines and if they can tag your luggage to the final Bermuda destination. You will claim your lugggage in order to clear customs anyway, if tagged to Bermuda take your bags to the connecting flights counter after you exit customs. If not tagged through you will need to take your luggage to T8 for check-in with American. AirTrain is located on the 3rd floor of T4, take any train on track 1 to T8.
I have a red-eye landing
I have a red-eye landing with Virgin America at 5:35 am on 7/5 (terminal 4, I think). We are a couple with 2 carry ons and one larger suitcase. Would it still be reasonable to travel via AirTrain into Manhattan? need to get to 39th and Park Av. but don't want to be in the way of people going to work. Thank you in advance for your help.
It's not a problem, people
It's not a problem, people do it all the time, fuhgeddaboudit! Take AirTrain to Howard Beach Station and take the inbound A subway to Fulton St, transfer there to the Bronx-bound 4 or 5 subway to 42nd St/Grand Central (at Park Ave), walk three blocks south on Park to 39th St. It'll cost you $7.25 each instead of close to $60 for a taxi. Another alternative is to take the NYAS bus from terminal to Grand Central and then walk from there, cost is about $15 each.
Thank you.
Thank you.
from penn station how do i
from penn station how do i get to jfk
1)Take NYAS bus from outside
1)Take NYAS bus from outside Penn Station OR
2)Take either LIRR (faster than subway) to Jamaica or Jamaica-bound E subway to Sutphin Blvd/JFK and transfer to AirTrain to terminals.
LIRR is probably fastest as almost all LIRR trains out of Penn Station stop at Jamaica (20 minutes) and AirTrain is about 15 minutes to terminals.

1)take AirTrain on track 2
1)take AirTrain on track 2 (terminal loop) from T3 to T8, only takes a few minutes.
2)allow 1 hours for customs.
3)you should have enough time.
What's the best way to get
What's the best way to get to JFK from SUNY Stony Brook? How long is the trip?
Train-$12.50 peak/$9 off
Train-$12.50 peak/$9 off peak will be much cheaper than taxi-well over $100. Take AirTrain on track 1 from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to LIRR-Port Jefferson branch train to Stony Brook. Travel time is about 1.5 hours and may require a transfer along the way either at Hicksville or Huntington.
