Do you have maxi cabs to take 2 adults + 3 children and 5 pieces of luggage. If yes are they still flat rate to Manhatten $45 and can we pre book a maxi cab or would we have to just wait for one?????

You have three options after you arrive:
1. Go to the taxi line and ask the taxi dispatcher if it is possible to get an yellow cab for 5 passengers. Some of the drivers make an exceptions when there are kids.
2. Call a private car - from the Ground transportation self-service phones dial either 31 or 34. The price is slightly higher than yellow cab.
3. Go to Ground transportation desk(Welcome Center) and request a private van. That will cost you more than the first two options.

are there no maxi cabs at the airport?
i'm coming to pick up my parents from the airport, they are 3 adults with 5 pieces of luggage......
how will we get to the hotel in manhattan?

Hi,
I'll be arriving on the last week of April in the morning. My hotel is the Club Quarters Midtown - Times Square. What's the best (and safest) way to get there? Many thanks, D

You have a couple of options:
1. Yellow cab will take you there for flat rate of $45+toll($5.50).
2. Take New York Airport Service Express Bus to Times Square; Price - $15.
3. Share ride services(minivan) at Ground transportation desk(Welcome Center). It is a door to door service and costs $18.50.
4. Airtrain + subway E; Take Airtrain to Jamaica Station and then subway line E towards Manhattan to 42nd street. Cost - $7.25.

Hello, I am arriving to the JFK airport at 12:40 on saturday (september 11) and leaving at 20:00 is there any possibilities to go to the city and see a few things during the scale? and which means of transport would be the most appropriate and the cheaper one?
thank you very much

The cheapest transportation is the public transportation.
Take Airtrain from any terminal to Jamaica Station and then take subway line E to the city. The whole journey will take you around 1 hour and the cost is $7.25 per passenger.

Hi, I will be arriving at JFK 1 April, 12.35. I have to be in Washington that evening. It's my second time in the US and I'm not sure which bus to take (from where exactly?). Also wondering whether it would be worth the experience to travel by train. Help very much appreciated. Thanks, Christine

Hi Christine,
Take Express bus(New York Airport Service) from any terminal to Times Square. There, look for Port Aouthority bus Terminal where you can catch Greyhound bus to Washington DC. Duration: 4.5hrs - 5.5 hrs
Amtrak out of Penn Station to Washington DC is faster (Acela will take you there in 3 hours.)

Hi, Thanks a lot! I found a bus from New York to Washington at 3 pm. How long does the express bus take from JFK to 42 Street. Is it faster to take the air train + subway line E? Thank you for your help. Tintin

45min to an hour, depends on the traffic. Airtrain+Subway option it is a bit slower.

I am coming into jfk and need to get to westchester county.... Is there a train or shuttle to take me to comfor i in hawthorne New York if so how much one way?

Once you arrive look for Ground Transportation counter(or Welcome Center) - the agents there will give you all the options and prices. Some of the transportation can be booked by them on the spot.

Is there public transport to go to Jersey City? I should go to Exchange Place. Thanks
