JFK International Airport AirTrain

 JFK AirTrain is the automated, elevated people mover system that operates between JFK International Airport, Long Island Rail Road trains and New York City Subway.
It also serves as an on-airport service connecting the airline terminals, rental car facilities, hotel shuttles, and airport parking lots.

AirTrain Routes

  • Howard Beach route

The Howard Beach route ends at the Howard Beach-JFK subway station. It stops at Lefferts Boulevard (connecting transit services - B15 bus) for shuttle buses to long term parking lots A and B and to airport employee parking.

Q11 bus Runs along Cross Bay Blvd,  Q21, Q53 SBS, Q52 SBS – Serve the Cross Bay Blvd corridor

  • Jamaica Station route

The Jamaica route ends at Jamaica Station on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) next to the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue-JFK subway station (to Brooklyn and Manhattan or Queens).

Connecting transit services:

 E, J and Z subway trains
 Q6, Q8, Q9, Q20A, Q20B, Q25/Q34, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q43, Q44, Q60  and Q65 buses.

  • Airline Terminal route (free)

The Airline Terminal route connects JFK terminals, hotel shuttles, parking areas and rental car facilities.


All JFK AirTrain stations are wheelchair accessible. Howard Beach subway and Jamaica Long Island Railroad stations are wheelchair accessible too.

Hours of Operation

AirTrain runs 24/7, 

  • Depending on route/time of day - trains run every 7–15 minutes,
  • depending on time of day and route.

I need to go to Columbus Circle from JFK...I'm staying at the Midtown Holiday Inn 57th Street. S.O.S. Please help?????

You can take Air-Tran to Jamaica Queens, catch the E train downtown to 7th avenue Manhattan, and take the Uptown D train 1 stop to 59th Street Columbus Circle.

I'm coming into JFK On Saturday morning via Terminal 1 domestic, My girlfriend will be arriving in Terminal 8, I wanted to know if there's any possible way I could meet her at her gate or if I would be leaving the security area and unable to re-enter.

Once I park my car at the Long Term Parking Facility, how do I get to the AirTrain? Is there a station right at the parking lot or do I need to take a bus shuttle to the AirTrain? I ultimately need to get to terminal 8 (American Airlines). Many thanks for any feedback.

Could someone can tell me how to get to the Michelangelo hotel in 152 West 51st Street, next to the Radio City Music Hall. What is the best way, shuttle, airtrain and metro. Arriving 1st april. Thank you in advanced 4 your answer.

how far is it from Terminal 4 to terminal 8. We will be arriving late at night on Aer Lingus and need to transfer to American, which will be departing at Terminal 8. Is there some form of transportating seniors to the air train and then from the air train to the next American gate.

Also, will we have to go to the ticket counter to check in when we change to American after arriving on Aer Lingus? I realize we will have to go through customs, but do we have to handle our luggage for the next airline.

Please help. I am travelling drom South Africa. I am arriving on 30 March at terminal 8 at 7:45 and have a separate flight to Miami on American Airlines at 11:15, departing from terminal 4. Will this be enough time for me to make the Miami flight?

Im here on a student visa and i know that i have to stop by the immigration/Customs office before i leave the states so they can take my fingerprints and check me out. ive done this a couple of times before but i always go through O'Hare airport/Chicago. this is the first time i go through JKF can anyone please tell me or show me on the map where the immigration office is.
