You will be definitely clearing customs at JFK - this is your first point of entry in USA.

My mother is from the Philippines and she just got her immigrant visa. She is 72 years old and knows very little English. Can she get help in answering the questions for Immigration in JFK? Are translators available? She will be travelling alone, but I will pick her up in the airport, can I be allowed to help her? Thnak you for your help

If her paperwork is all fine the chances are they won't need translator. You won't be allowed inside immigration area. When you go to meet her stay as close as possible to the exit doors - sometimes the immigration officer comes out and asks for help if needed.

Hi,

My family just arrived at JFK. They checked in the baggage, but missed the flight. How we have to retrive the baggage now. Please advise.

Contact the airline for that - they have a hold on the bags.

I´m not satisfied with AA flight from Tampa to JFK on the 2nd and 3th. of May They cancelled fight two days in a row because of an airtraffic in JFK without any warning. All the other airlines (Delta, US-airways) could fly from Tampa to JFK at the same time and had no problem. Me and my family were lucky on the second day to get flight with US-airline to Laguardia.

I want to know what the real problem was because I will not buy that answear about airtraffic two days in a row.
What kind of airline is that - don´t they think about their customer.

1. Will they pay our connection flight we lost with another airline (we are family of 4 and had tickets to Europe)?
2. Will AA pay for hotelstay while for the one night we had to wait?
3. Will AA pay for cab to and from the airports?
4. Will AA pay for loss of payment for work as I came too late from vacation?

We also had a last minute cancelation of AA morning flight from Las Vegas to JFK on May 2. All other flights on that same route such as Delta and Jet Blue flew throughout the day without delay. AA blamed it on JFK air traffic controllers saying that due to anticipated weather later in the day, JFK can choose to cancel any flight at their discretion to make sure traffic does not get backed up later in the day. Weather was perfect all day in fact tailwinds allowed flights to land ahead of schedule. So what's the real story? I'd like to hear JFK's response.

Hi,
From Delta Airlines arriving in Terminal 3 from PUJ(Punta Cana) on 6:10 pm as scheduled I have to transfer to the Terminal 1 on the return flight to FRA (Frankfurt) by Lufthansa at 9:40 pm. I am a bit worrying because it is critical for me to be on time for the Lufthansa flight.

1. Will it be enough time to take through the passport control, laggage claim etc etc, reach Terminal 1 and check-in for Lufthansa?
2. What if I also need to visit the left laggage facility at Terminal 4 and take my bag from there?
3. What is the most efficient option to get from one Terminal to another? is there any free transportation?
4. How high is the probability of Delta's flight delay in PUJ? I understand it is a regular flight (Delta 490), how often it is delayed in practice?
5. Any advice how I may better secure my connection (manage to be on-time)? appreciate any tip.

Thank you in advance.

1. You have plenty of time to do that.
2. You still have time.
3. Take Airtrain - it is free between the terminals and fast.
4. I think you should be fine even the DL490 is late(no more than 1:30hrs though).
5. Once you land at T3 and clear customs just follow the signs for the Airtrain station(it is a long walk up the ramp). At the station take Airtrain on track 1 for T4 and get off next stop; if you want to go to T1 , take the train on track 2 and get off next stop.

What is the number of the Delta gate at which the Delta flight from Atlanta usually arrives at T3 at JFK on Mondays and what is the number of the international Delta gate from which Delta flies to Moscow shortly after 4:00 PM on Mondays in May? How long does it take to get from that domestic Delta gate to the international Delta gate for Moscow? I have slightly more than 1 hour layover. Thank you in advance for your response.

Even Delta tries to keep the same gate numbers for certain flights they change them very frequently when they need to. Once you get off your flight , locate a flight monitor ,find the gate number for your flight and follow the signs to that gate. All the gates are within minutes walking distance.

Any 1 travelling from Dublin to SanFran via JFK on 21st May ??

I am traveling to NY(American Airlines) and would like to bring a new computer(iMac) into the original box, replacing the one of my 2 pieces of checked luggage. Knew about the embargo of boxes and wonder if it is valid for travel to Rio de Janeiro/Brazil.

Thanks
