JFK International Airport AirTrain
AirTrain JFK is the train service that operates between JFK
International Airport, Long Island Rail Road trains and New York City Subway.
It also serves as an on-airport service connecting the airline terminals, rental
car facilities, hotel shuttles, and airport parking lots.
Air Train JFK has
3 routes:
- Howard Beach route
The Howard Beach route ends at the Howard Beach-JFK subway station. It stops
at Lefferts Boulevard (connecting transit services - B15 bus) for shuttle buses
to long term parking lots A and B and to airport employee parking.
Connecting transit services: A subway train, Q11 bus
- Jamaica Station route
The Jamaica route ends at Jamaica Station on the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR)
next to the Sutphin Boulevard/Archer Avenue-JFK subway station (to Brooklyn
and Manhattan or Queens).
Connecting transit services: E, J and Z subway
trains, Q6, Q8, Q9, Q20A, Q20B, Q25/Q34, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q43, Q44, Q60 and
Q65 buses
Both routes make a counterclockwise loop through the airport and stop at each
terminal.
- Airline Terminal route
The Airline Terminal route connects 6 terminal stations (Terminal 1, 2-3,
4, 5-6, 7 and 8-9). Route operates in the opposite direction, making a clockwise
loop.
All JFK AirTrain stations are wheelchair accessible. Howard Beach subway and
Jamaica Long Island Railroad stations are wheelchair accessible too.

- Fare of 5$ at Howard Beach or Jamaica Station
- Rides between all other JFK AirTrain stations are free

Taxi will take you direct
Taxi will take you direct from JFK for flat rate $45+tolls+tip. You can also take public transportation ($7.25); Airtrain from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to E subway to Lexington Ave., walk south on Lexington to the hotel.
I am starting to work
I am starting to work tomorrow and I know there is a station in the air train that its free but I am comfused. I think its the one near the parking. Can somebody comfirm it ???How does it works ???

The only two stations that are free( and they are outside of central terminal area) are Federal Circle and Lefferts Blvd. The second one is near the long term parking lot.

how to get to Sunset Park, Brooklyn
I will be arriving at JFK at 5pm on a Thursday. Need to know how to get to 7th ave and 39th st in Sunset Park. Thank you

Taxi will take you direct, cost around $50. By public transportation; take Airtrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station, take LIRR to Atlantic Terminal-Brooklyn (last stop), transfer to the D subway to 9th Ave (at 39th St.). Walk east two blocks on 39th St. to 7th Ave.
Transport from JFK to LGA
Hi everyone!
I need to know what are my options of transportation to go from JFK airport to La Guardia airport. Just with a little detail: I have to do this at 3:00 AM !!!! The only way would be a taxi? Anyone has some idea about the price of this ride?

At that time only taxi will take you there - expect somewhere between $28-$35.

Blue Point, Long Island
Hi. I'm arriving in from Dublin & just want to double-check that the Air Train going to Howard Beach / Jamaica will take me close to Blue Point, Long Island. It looks like it does but I would like to be confident before heading off. Many thanks. Mary

Blue Point is near
Blue Point is near Patchogue. Take Airtrain to Jamaica and then LIRR to Patchogue. A change of trains for the Montauk line at Babylon may be required.
Blue Point NY is no where
Blue Point NY is no where near Jamaica Station. You're going to then have to get on the LIRR heading east from Jaimaica. I hope this helps.

Follow signs to Airtrain and
Follow signs to Airtrain and take any train on track 2 from T8 to T1, takes about 10 minutes. No charge between terminals.
From Airport to Long Island City

Im going to stay 5 nights in NY. Choosed a hotel in Long Island CIty => 3003 40th Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101. I would like to know if it is possible to go there by train or bus?
