Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

You should have time. Go upstairs to Airtrain and take it from T4 to T7, only take a few minutes.

Is anything open in terminal 7 after midnight? We are flying to New York and meeting someone who is flying from London. We both arrive at terminal 7 but 2 hours apart. Is there a coffee shop open for them to wait until our flight arrives - United Airlines from L.A. arriving at 12.55am 15 June.

All the shops at T7 close at 10pm.

I have a flight leaving at 6 a.m. on Monday out of Terminal 7. We are supposed to arrive 90 minutes - 2 hours prior. What time does Terminal 7 open?

T7 opens up at 4am.

Hi,
I have a return flight from JFK to London Heathrow airport. I am flying with Delta airlines and was just wondering what the maximum time before my flight i can check in? Also after i have checked in my luggage am i allowed to leave the airport? I am staying in Michigan but will only be returning to New York on the day of my flight; therefore i was hoping to arrive early and check-in my bags so i could have a couple hours to explore the city.
Thanks for the help

With Delta you can check-in as early as 24 hours in advance.
After you check-in your luggage and obtain boarding pass you can leave the airport. Just make sure you are back at least 1 hour before departure.

Hello,

I will be arriving at St. Louis -> JFK at 12:55pm with Delta and I have an AA flight to Costa Rica at 3:10pm. Will 2h be sufficient to make the transfer?

Also, what the process will be:
- collect my luggage
- do not leave transfer zone
- go to AA desk and check-in
- go to the gate

Thanks!

Deyan

Hello Deyan,
The time is enough for you. Check with Delta in St.Louis if they checked your bags straight through Costa Rica - this way you don't have to pick them up at JFK.
Then the process will be :
- arriving at Delta terminal(T3 or T2)
- take Airtrain to T8
- go through security
- look for the gate for the flight to Costa Rica.

i'll be on a flight from Guatemala to JFK and will land on 2AM. is the passport control open at this time? a friend told my once that the passport control is opening at 5:30AM, and i wanted to make sure.

You will be landing at T4 - the immigration/customs there is open all the time.

I have a question. I am flying back from London on July 22 (Virgin -VS009) arriving in JFK at 20:10 (8:10). I would like to book Jet Blue to Charlotte at 9:45. Is there enough time?

Thank you for any help you can give.

It is tight. Check with Jet Blue what time they will close the check-in for their flight to Charlotte. Bear in mind that you will have at least 40-45 min in customs/immigration at T4 and then another 10-15 min to move from T4 to T5. By that time Jet Blue may close the check-in(and may be stop issuing the boarding pass in case you don't check-in bags)

if someone is coming in on a delta international flight and connecting on a delta domestic flight from the same terminal....what is the procedure? They will go through customs, do they have to reenter security, or will they go straight to their gate?

Here is the procedure(it is for every airline, not only for Delta):
1. clearing immigration
2. pick up the bags
3. clearing US customs
4. Recheck the bags
5. Clearing security and going to the gates.
