transfer between terminals
I will be arriving on an Emirates flight at terminal 4 and connect to Boston from terminal 8, 2hr and 15 mins later, would this give me sufficient time to clear immigration and baggage collection and make my connection?
Which is the quickest way to get to Terminal 8?
On my return I will fly into JFK from Chicago for a connection on Emirates at terminal 4, could I have my baggage checked in from Chicago?
Thank you
If your arriving flight is
If your arriving flight is on time you should have enough time. After you exit customs at T4 go to AirTrain on 3rd floor and take any train on either track to T8, takes no more than 10 minutes. On your return ask at Chicago check-in (American Airlines I presume) if they will check your bags through on Emirates. If not you will need to pick up your bags on arrival at T8 and take them with you to T4 to check-in, take AirTrain on track 2 from T8 to T4.
Thank you for your
Thank you for your reply.
Just a few more queries: I have noticed that Terminal 8 is the AA international terminal and T9 the domestic. ( as per the map) Are these one and the same terminal and do I still have to get to terminal 8 for domestic connections.? I am travelling AA throughout the USA.
Where can I arrange shared shuttle transport to my city hotel or individual taxi. Do these have to be pre-booked?
There is no T9, all AA is
There is no T9, all AA is T8. All transportation is on the lower level at Ground Transportation where you can get taxis and shuttles.
thank you very much!
thank you very much!
airtrain
Hi! Since I can't take Airtrain to JFK somewhere more close to Manhattan than on Howard Beach or Jamaica...it doesn't have a sense (except money, if you use a subway to reach those stations...spending 2 hours ). Don't you planning to extend airtrain service line ?
You can take any subway line
You can take any subway line to a transfer station where you can get the J or E subway to Sutphin Blvd/JFK, the A subway to Howard Beach, or LIRR from either Atlantic Terminal-Brooklyn or Penn Station to Jamaica and hop on AirTrain to all terminals. AirTrain was designed to move passengers from the public transit centers at Jamaica (E, J subway and LIRR) and Howard Beach (A subway), as well as long term parking lot and rental cars to the terminal areas.
park&ride
Hi, are there any train stations within 30-40 mins of JFK which are park & ride and connect to train station line?
Subway stations do not have
Subway stations do not have parking lots. Most LIRR stations have parking lots however most require a permit to park or have meters for daily parking only. Rosedale (at Queens/Nassau border on Conduit Ave.) has free parking near the station but would think that fills up quickly. If you can find a legal spot at any LIRR station you can take LIRR to Jamaica and then transfer to AirTrain to terminals. See www.mta.info/lirr/ for station/parking info.
Manhattan

Take AirTrain from terminal
Take AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station ($5) and transfer to the E subway to Lexington/53rd St ($2.25). Transfer to the uptown #6 subway to 110th St. Walk up Lexington Ave. two blocks to E. 112th St and turn left.

Thank you.
Follow the signs to long
Follow the signs to long term parking off Lefferts Blvd. Park and walk to the Lefferts Blvd. AirTrain station and take to terminals. On your return be sure to take AirTrain on track 1 marked Howard Beach as that train will stop at Lefferts Blvd. AirTrain runs 24/7 every 15 minutes. Travel time from LTP to T4 is about 10 minutes.
Hi I am arriving into JFK on
Hi I am arriving into JFK on the 12th May at 5pm. Please could you let me know what the best way to get to 377 East 33rd Street would be?
Thanks.
Taxi is direct and will cost
Taxi is direct and will cost $45+tolls+tip. You can also take AirTrain from terminal to Jamaica Station, transfer to E subway to Lexington/53rd St, transfer to the downtown #6 subway to 33rd St. It's a fairly long four block walk from Park Ave. to your location near 1st Ave. so if you don't want the exercise you can walk one block up to 34th St. and take the M34 crosstown bus eastbound on 34th to 1st Ave.
