Operated by - The airport has been operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey under a lease with New York City since 1947.

After the September 11, 2001 attacks, JFK was one of the first airports in the United States to be temporarily closed.

Are you flying the same airline?
JFK_E

Yes -- both are Delta. (Sorry for not saying that upfront.)

Then you should be fine as long as your flight from Pisa is not late. All the connections in your case are at Terminal 3.

Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate your prompt response and help!

I'm arriving from Reykajavik airport (Iceland) on Monday night at 7 PM. I need to get to Austin TX from there. The only flight I'm seeing that's reasonably priced leaves at 8 PM, so I assume that's not enough time to transfer, so I guess I will need to wait until morning for the next available flight. I don't really want the hassle of getting a hotel room--the next flight would be at 6 AM, which means I'd need to be back around 4:30 AM, it doesn't seem worth it to go to a hotel and then have to get up that early, so I'd rather just stay at the airport. I have one bag that I'm checking in. Will it be possible for me to check in the bag for my Austin flight, immediately after my Iceland flight arrives, and then just stay at the terminal until the next flight? How far ahead can I check bags in? (I'm traveling on American passport)

You can spend the night at Terminal 4 - it is open 24/7. You can check the bags in as early as 2-3 hours before the departing flight.

Thanks for the quick response!

how can I page 2 passengers throughout Terminal 3? what number should I call?

I`ll go to New York from Oslo, Norway. How do I find cheapest tickets?
Thank you

1- My arrival is at terminal (3) after 13 hours international flight, my departure on a domestic flight is also from Terminal 3, unit 2. Time between flights is 4:30 hrs. Do I have enough time to use "The Lounge" at terminal (4)?

2- For my return flight, the connection time between the domestic and international flight is 3 hrs, is that sufficient?
3- Thanks

1- You may have 2-2.5 hours to use that lounge. It depends on how long you will be held in immigration/customs.
Just remember that you have to be back for your domestic flight no later than 1.5hours prior to departure.
2- Three hours is enough to transfer at JFK.
3- You are very welcome:)

We are arriving from London on Saturday May 8th at approximately 8p.m. and wondering if we will be able to make a 10 p.m. shuttle. Can you tell me approximately how much time it takes to clear customs and get to the shuttle stand? The shuttle starts at Terminal 1.

Which shuttle are you taking?

I will be travelling through JFK on my way to Helsinki. When I booked my trip I was to arrive on Delta at 2pm with the next flight leaving on a Finnair flight at 5:40pm. Delta has since moved my departure out of Tampa to JFK twice pushing my arrival in JFK to just after 3pm. I am concerned about two things: (1) if Delta pushes me back any further it could make my transfer very difficult; and (2) how does transferring luggage occur when changing terminals and airlines in what could be a very short amount of time? This is my first time flying international and first time through JFK so this is making me nervous. Thanks

Since you are flying domestic on your first flight any time window above 1hr should NOT raise concerns.
See in Tampa if Delta has checked your bags all the way through Helsinki. Then you do not have to worry about transferring the bags. Just take ANY Airtrain on ANY track/side to Terminal 8, go through security to the gate for Helsinki flight.
